So with book 5 likely being the 10 days and the contest, what if anything do you think Venli will contribute to the story? So far even though each book has one focus they've all included Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar, Szeth, and Eshonai/Venli. They're the 5 main characters of this arc. Szeth was pretty quiet in this book was at least still pretty consistently present and pretty involved in the Odium shake up at the end. For book 5 Venli has left with the left of the listeners. If it's a 10 day book then I don't see her changing her mind and coming back within that time, or convincing the listeners to join the fight. She seems totally separate. Now if the book ends up going past those 10 days then I'm sure there will be a way for her to get back in to the story, I just don't see it if the focus is the prep for the contest. Any thoughts on how she might contribute?

I just finished it and loved it. Wax and Wayne hasn't been my favorite of his series so far but this one seemed really good from the start. I loved Steris the whole time, and meeting the new civilization to the South was great. Now I just need to read Secret History and I'm finally all caught up!

I think Wayne also thought it's what Wax wanted i his own crazy way. He saw it as Wax just following his duty to be with Steris, and not something Wax actually wanted to do. When Wax tells him "Enough" at the end I think he actually understands that his friend wants to be with Steris, and he's going to stop for his sake. He's incredibly misguided, but I think half of what he does can be justified as genuinely doing what he thinks is best for Wax.
