We are about 12 books into the Cosmere with Hoid being featured in each and every volume. While he has occasionally been a brief mention, for the most part, he provides vital intelligence or support in a minor way to the main characters. In Bands of Mourning, he provides the clue that unveils the One-Spike Eye man's true identity. By this point, he has full awareness of the Cosmere, the three Realms, and Investiture, and even has shown an ability to harness the Investiture of various planets. My question is, What is he aiming for? Is he trying to prevent a great evil from spreading or is he a power of sheer chaos? Secret Histories gives me the feeling he Is motivated in some way. But what could this be?
