  1. Alright, I have some idea of what's going on now. Didn't go through the entire D2 thread yet, though. Just the important bits. The Creccio lynch was somewhat expected, but vastly disappointing. Going to look at the captains of the wagon and those suspiciously off the wagon for traitors. That's my first guess, anyway.
  2. Yes, Kas, you're right -- I'll concede you that. Seeing that this sort of thing really is an issue, I'll be withdrawing that earlier comment. Do we have reason to believe that this claim may have either leaked out of the above network, or been shared outside of the network innately? Based on my short interactions with Mailliw, nothing diabolical was afoot. Quick question about the meta here: how serious is day-start, generally?
  3. My two cents on D1 lynches: there are two kinds of D1 lynches, being Policy Lynches and Information Lynches. Policy lynches takes out a player because of how that player plays, or because that player may become a hazard later on. For example: lynch a player who is notoriously inactive, to the extent that it hurts the Town. Information lynches focus on taking a player out of the equation, but leaving behind whatever web of connections that player had -- or to hope that the player flips evil. The former might focus on the future by taking out problematic elements. The latter either focuses on the present by attempting to remove evil immediately or the future by allowing for future successes via bolstered informational wells. Our D1 lynch falls somewhere in the middle, I would think.
  4. Ah, before I forget: Hemalurgist revealing to the HI is that the HI would be working away from its win condition by posting these in the thread. Why reveal to the Town when it will convert, when converting is a switch of alignment? Honestly, the HI doesn't have any reason to tell the truth at all. I want to trust the HI to help us before the conversion -- and I am hoping everyone else does too -- however, this trust only goes so far.
  5. I don't have a grasp of this site's terminology yet, so if I start using jargon which makes no sense, let me know and I'll put it into other words. To clarify, the vote you lodged was in earnest, yes? The PM safety bit here feels redundant to me. That sort of talk, nailing down what should be mere convention, feels like filler grasping for easy town-cred. Sort of a scumtell in my eyes. The words aren't wrong exactly, but the needlessness coupled with the jumble appears to be showboating. Have there been issues of games being lost due to scum-sided PM conspiring in the past? Same issue with this quote as the above quote except to an even greater extent. "Don't reveal if you're an investigative". More showboating, attempting to 'coordinate' the townies, getting that sweet, sweet obv town read. That is the @everyone and @kanra sections. Again, I agree with the points being made (especially the last paragraph) but these things are like wordless contracts. As for the last paragraph, as a person who has created and hosted countless games, believe me: a GM never reveals their secrets. The list was 99 rerolled between the two hostings of this game. Meta is worthless here as the set isn't part of the setup. If the set were a part of a setup it would work 100%, but that isn't the case. Minor alienation of our 3rd party in the first paragraph. Dubious. As Kipper says here, though the HI has a "choice" or an influence over their alignment, it isn't a proper choice. The HI gains nothing from choosing a side now, so by talking about how the HI could potentially screw us over, we are alienating a potential asset. Anyone doing this is scummy in my eyes. That being said, revealing the number of Hemalugists seems like a bad idea. The ToS analogy is a non-sequitur. We should not be alienating the HI since they are a resource. Not an ally, a resource. We can trust them for now, that much is a given. Later, it will get iffy. We cannot put faith into this ally, but we CAN put in trust. The bit about turning on the traitors is misrepresentation. You cannot turn on the Traitors because if you betray the Traitors, you have zero chance of winning. Adavantos is my current largest scum read at the moment.
  6. I'm not very comfortable with this site yet, so I am going to just start out playing how I normally do. Maybe I'll pick up RPing as a habit later on when I have a better grasp on things. Cor -- Alvron. I do not understand how anything he has done is suspicious. Would someone explain to me, exactly, what was suspicious?
