Secret History Reactions [Secret History Spoilers]
azninvasion99 replied to Chaos's topic in Mistborn
Wow, just wow. Kelsier punching Preservation, that's a top 5 Sanderson moment for me. We finally got to see the Cognitive Realm on Scadrial! This whole book was a treat for this alone, to not only get a glimpse of it (like Stormlight) but an entire story. The Elantris sequel hadn't been that high on my list of expectation, that changed dramatically with the Ire. I need to see how the Elantrians get to this point! More Khriss and Nazh!! The last interaction between Vin and Kelsier, the dam nearly broke. So many emotions. I couldn't handle them. This is going to need another reread, there was so much going on in this novella that no way did I get it all in one go. -
Bands of Mourning Full Book Reactions [Bands Spoilers]
azninvasion99 replied to Chaos's topic in Mistborn
Oh boy, where to start. My brain hurts from double dosage of new Mistborn! I love Steris, she was growing on me during SoS but she really came into her own with this book. When Wayne got caught after the train heist with MeLaan. LOL. Khriss!! Nazh!! Oh I was so happy. The biggest surprise with me about the Set reveals was that Edwarn answered to Telsin, instead of the other way around. I had just assumed he was higher up the food chain. Really enjoyed Wax's scene with Harmony at the end. I felt it was a nice closure of SoS, and you get a glimpse of what Sazed is dealing with on a larger scale. I had planned on holding off on the novella until tomorrow, but those last few paragraphs!!! Threw those plans out the door. -
Amazon still has it for pre-order

I've become skeptical of anything they've put out since Battlestar Galactica, but I was really curious to see how they would adapt the book, so I thought I would give them a shot. The other new series they've adapted (The Expanse) was also pretty enjoyable for it's first 2 episodes, so maybe they are finally switching gears into some decent television. But back to the series, I thought the series was a decent adaptation. I wish they hadn't focused so much on trying to give the characters depth since I felt a lot of their arcs fell flat, and that the strong points of the series was when they stuck to the plot that came out of the books. I did think that Karellen was awesome throughout, and some of the special effects in the last episode were really solid considering.

Well, I went to the doctor to get a general check up, came out with a referral for counseling due to major depression, and a follow up for possibly getting me on antidepressants. Not really sure how I feel about it, since I've tried to hide/suppress it for years, but hopefully this gets me on the right path to recovery.

Official Star Wars Episode VII SPOILER Thread
azninvasion99 replied to Seonid's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I had a question/theory about Luke's location. And I might not be remembering this correctly, since I saw it a few days ago and I already need a rewatch, but did it say that Luke was looking for something about the origins or history of the Jedi? Because if so, wouldn't he be looking for Tython? I know that Tython was considered the Jedi home world for the old EU which Disney did away with, but I just couldn't help but get excited at that prospect of them including that planet in the movies. -

I was curious if anyone was watching this mini-series, and had any thoughts on it? The book was always my favorite SF book and while I was skeptical of Syfy taking on the adaptation, I thought the first night was good. Some character/timeline changes aside, I'm really looking forward to the next two nights.

I was really hoping they would avoid the single issue format, the monthly wait will be brutal. I really want to know who the artist is for this as well.

Looking forward to start the binge tomorrow afternoon, doing a marathon with friends. Looked at the ratings from IGN reviews and they are very promising. I can't wait for this, the short clips that Marvel released...oh man. Kilgrave is all sorts of creepy.

What are you playing right now?
azninvasion99 replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I definitely felt morally awful the entire time I would go DS but I was determined to play it that way since it felt like a different experience, with the choices and events that unfolded when you were evil. -

I always felt that KOTOR I/II was one of the few successful ones for a karma meter, since there were certain abilities that were only unlocked if you went one way or the other. Like if you didn't go through that game going dark side and using force lightning, you missed out on major faceroll. This is why you help them, get your light side points, then kill them afterwards for their money. Then the light side/dark side points were negated and you went away with money. Lol particularly on Taris, those people were so annoying in KOTOR. -
The Lonely Chatterboxes Club
azninvasion99 replied to Mistrunner's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I don't know what was more funny, the story itself or the excellent Kramer gif usage. Lol yeah I would be terrified if my German teacher had done that to me in HS.- 80 replies

Yeah I have to do a lot of personal convincing just to calm myself down a little when that happens. I also have that issue where I think I left them with nothing to respond to and so I send another message. But then I start worrying that I'm nagging them if I send multiple messages before a response. It is an endless circle for me.

I used to set up crash courses for my Hot Wheels...to see how far it would go and what kind of flips it would do upon impact...
