I listened to their latest album at work, really good! I'll have to dive into the rest of their discography. Also, RIP Keith Emerson. Listening to Tarkus in his honor.
-
No I haven't, but I will definitely check them out. Thanks for the suggestion!

It really is, I just dove into his last two solo albums a couple weeks ago and they are just as good. Ancestral is a masterpiece imo.

This definitely happened to me! I found some old Animorphs books that I used to read as a kid, 2 hours later I had gone through like 5 of them before I realized how much time had passed. Lol -
Been listening to a lot of Iron Maiden (because that new tour setlist is EVERYTHING). But my biggest kick lately has been Porcupine Tree. Best way I could describe them is a modern combination of Pink Floyd and King Crimson, just fantastic stuff if you like that kind of music.

Random Stuff VII: The Admins Awaken

I'm almost ready to move back to AZ this weekend! Just a few more things to pack, and I'll be good. You never realize how much stuff you own until you start packing. I felt like books were constantly spawning around my room when my back was turned. Also found my original Pokemon handbook, so that was a good day! Lol -
So my sister who I was living with in NM asked me to move out by June 1st (since she is moving shortly after), and I have decided to go back to Arizona! I can't wait to go back home. I am going back to Phoenix this upcoming week for a couple job interviews, and I'm hoping I get an offer and so I'm able to move by the end of March.

Went into my local B&N to pick up Calamity, then I saw that Alcatraz had been reprinted and I never got to read those. A 20 dollar trip quickly turned into a 60 dollar trip. Sigh...yay I have more Sanderson to read though. -
That thing is amazing. My comic shop has the Sandman chess set and it taunts me every time I go in there, but I can't afford it. American Gods was an interesting read, but I can see how it isn't for everyone. I read it after reading Sandman and I felt the themes were very similar which probably helped me some in getting through it.

Yep! They are fantastic.

The Official Thread of Relationships

Yeah, I was never going to pursue strongly and make her uncomfortable. I just thought I would do something nice for her, toss a hint or two out there and see what happens. I really don't expect her to be interested in me anyways, religion or not. But she is really nice and has a good personality so I thought I would try to make a feeble attempt. -
I'm a little over halfway through The Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan, pretty good so far! It has been a fun read, the magic system is really cool as well.

Well we were just discussing dating (I met her at work) and that was just one of the things she said. It could have been said to push me away, who knows. Lol I don't really have any expectations, I gave up on those a long time ago when things never lived up to them. I'm more of a "we'll see how things go" type of person at this point. I'm always up for something long term but I try not to let myself get carried away anymore. -

Well it is more of she is very religious and she told me that she only would date someone who is also religious, which I am not. Her being religious doesn't bother me though (I grew up with it my entire life) so maybe I can win her over some other way. Lol -

In my limited experience, you want to give her the time she deserves. I'd say if you don't feel like you have the time to commit to a relationship, I would tell her that. Being honest (for me anyways) has always been the best method, regardless of whether it works out or not. Beating around the bush or dragging it out is never fun for both parties. Hopefully it works out for you! I actually started liking someone myself but I don't meet her dating standards...debating on going for it anyways but I'm not sure... -
Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
azninvasion99 replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Maxal, this woman may have the luxuries that you can't afford but that's not what matters. It's how you live your life, and doing what makes you happy. You're there for your children, and as someone who was raised by workaholics, having your parents there with you is worth a lot more than having a fancy house with a nanny. -

I feel similar to you, I'm also young but I spent my birthday reflecting on what little I've accomplished compared to other people I used to know. I still don't have my degree (all sorts of reasons for that), I live with family, and while I have a job that pays the bills, I feel like I'm stuck in the position I have with no real opportunity for advancement. Then I see my friends who have good jobs, are getting married, buying houses for themselves...sigh. -
Took me a long while (kept getting distracted by Netflix, new Mistborn books, etc) but I finally finished The Lions of Al Rassan by GGK. What an incredible book, beautifully written. I'm stuck in that place between awe and emotional breakdown, still not really sure how I feel about that journey that book put me through. Highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it.

So I signed up for an Audible trial since I am able to listen to stuff while at work, and while I like being able to enjoy a book while doing other things, it just feels really weird to have a book read to me. I'm always wanting the narrator to read just a little bit faster as well. Anyone else feel the similar about audiobooks? -

Thanks Twi, I appreciate it. I feel the same with the replies I have received, I just haven't clicked with them. Plus online I feel it's hard for certain qualities about you to come out. Like I have a sarcastic sense of humor and that doesn't translate well in message form. Combine that with my interests which not a lot of people share, it's just been hard to find anyone that I'd be interested in. -

I have this same problem. I have no idea where to start in terms of talking to someone new, and I just come off really awkward. That's all people seem to do where I live as well, is just go out to a bar or club and meet people, but I can't stand it. I've tried online dating but guess I'm not attractive enough to warrant a reply from most people? Lol -

I do have a heart! Might be a little black at times but it does exist! Lol I was emotionally distraught, definitely. But for reasons unknown, crying just doesn't come often when I read. I get more of a numb feeling during sad points instead of tears, guess that is just how my body handles it.
