  1. Out of curiosity, which of the three images that you provided did you use? Additionally I would suggest rotating the image around from what I saw earlier? That's just a stab in the dark. Don't have more time for now, but hope that helps. Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 387973120 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 528468272 bytes) in Unknown on line 0
  2. Hey guys. So Mabi as RP will not be able to defend herself as I've said earlier. Logically there is not much that I can do to convince you one way or the other. Yes it is possible that I'm a Spiked player and that from the get go Clan and Asp decided to work with me and play an incredibly deep strategy to make suspicion against Mabi less likely. A strategy that would require someone to look in depth at the votes and come to the conclusion that they were voting against one of their own to cast less suspicion; rather than some other player where if two other people voted for Mabi, or votes were affected another way would result in the death of an active Spiked rather than an inactive Spiked. On the flip side as I've partially explained in some of my previous posts. When there was a count of three votes and three votes against Mabi and Erendi at the beginning, if I had known that casting a vote against Mabi would almost assuredly result in Mabi being safe I would have done that. However as the nature of the votes were not clear, and I was not conscious (I was asleep) during the hours leading up to the write-up I was unable to cast a vote. As it was, Mabi not casting her vote, and the result of Emotional Allomancy gave players far more information than if Mabi had cast their vote, and I've said as much previously. As for the one vote that was against Xaneth. We were getting near the point where a write-up was expected as being due. At that point I knew I was going asleep for the next 12 hours (yes I sleep for 12 hours) and that ostensibly without an extension I was not going to be able to get a vote in. After I made that brief post, Gamma Fiend contacted me (I was asleep at this point) saying to leave my vote as is, as someone had to get the voting process started. When I made that decision it was literally a coin toss between Xaneth and Clan. As some players had mentioned that Clan was more useful in providing statistics, and had what appeared to me to be a higher post/activity than Xaneth the vote was cast against Xaneth. Did this break from my usual pattern, yes. Is that suspicious, yes. But at that point what was needed was someone to start the voting process as everyone was waiting on Gammut to say something to start casting votes. And because of Gammut's role as an information hub, players are generally following his lead. As for why I did not join the lynching of Clan it was to keep true to what I said earlier. Mabi will not vote unless it is to save herself. That and it was clear that Clan was going to die. I saw casting a vote against Clan as something else that would be suspicious if I were to do so, why would I break my previous pattern when it is clear what the outcome was going to be. That can be spun in several different directions, but I would say in part that because of my nature, and lack of time to put forward a post as Mabi in character that I simply do not post that often. I'll glance over and read my e-mail, but writing here for the most part is a long ordeal as this post itself has taken me the better part of an hour. No post as Mabi this time around, she's tired and in recovery.
  3. I was thinking that if Vizzini is a Rioter then the numbers make sense. When Vizzini Riots he negates his own vote to change the vote of someone else. In this case it would be that Vizzini Rioted Dane's vote and changed it to a vote for Mac. This makes some sense in that Vizzini is protecting himself without changing the vote of someone that voted against him, which could have been rather clever if he wasn't ousting himself as the Rioter. It could also be a role reversal where Dane changed Vizzini's vote but that makes less sense.
  4. IF it is the case that a Smoked person (not a Smoker - I'm not as interesting as that unfortunately) shows up at Smoked or something other than a regular villager then you can with confidence confirm my role. But as I am unclear about this I'll leave you lot to figure out the finer details. I would like to mention that to my knowledge I am not being Smoked.
  5. Looking at the write-up it looks like Vinizzi and Dane are Emotional Allomancers? Unless there is more than one person that is a Soother since we already kinda killed the Connector. Also the Seeker can seek me, but you won't be able to tell the difference than between me being either an actual villager or a Smoked character, unless you guys are confident that you know all of the Smokers and that they aren't Smoking me. I'm not saying that I'm Spiked, rather that the Seeker might find it more beneficial to Seek someone else. Going forward my plan is that Mabi will not vote, unless situations prove dire for my character, or my character role. I'm hoping that in saying this it makes it so that neither side has incentive to kill me, since I will still be active and reading these posts and posting from time to time. It could be that my logic is flawed that this makes you lot want to kill me anyways. Mabi was still emotionally confused. Somehow after still having three votes against her at the beginning of the speech afterwards she found that all the votes had changed to other targets. She felt relief that it was not her time to be lynched, although she did feel survivor's guilt that Mac, such a strong and standup young stud had died in her stead. She slowly eased back more into the bench that she was sitting in, thinking about the events of the past couple days. First Cyrus had died. Despite her and the other villager's efforts he had fled safety and had been ambushed. Then the someone else had killed Dryrii (The Coinshot) that same night to the detriment of the villagers. During the following day had been the first time that Mabi had been voted for. By her count it should have been either herself or Erendi that would have been lynched. Something had happened then where the crowed led by Meta that had hung Erendi instead of her. To their surprise upon looking at his dead body they had found a huge metal spike impaled through his chest, something that Meta and several others referred to as the Spiked. It seems that the Spiked were the traitors responsible for Cyrus' death. That night Mabi had spent living life to the fullest. As serendipity had it nothing of importance had happened. (Someone was Lurched and saved by that lurch. Raubber took damage, but did not die making him either a Thug or a very very fortunate Bloodmaker.) The next day the villagers were ecstatic that no one had died, and Mabi herself had been in good spirits. She missed that young caravan work hand, and hoped that he'd come back soon. Still the events of the following day had led to the death of Asp yet another Spiked with the powers of a Mistborn. She recalled that one of the three people that had voted for her on the first day. For reference those three were Asp, Xaneth, and Clan. She had been injured in Asp's death throes and had passed out for a while. Waking up the following morning to find that both Bartson and Forage had been killed. She'd been told that both of them had powers. She mourned the loss of the two men, who had provided her shelter from time to time over the years. Perhaps in pain at losing two men, or something else. Mabi had voted against Xaneth, reasoning that as Asp had voted against her perhaps the others that had voted against her were also guilty. When Xaneth had been killed and someone someone announced to them that he was a Connector, she was grief stricken. She resolved not to cast a vote against another person again, save to save her own life. That night there was another killing, and Arst's body was found with a spike in it. Three of the Spiked were dead. This last and more emotionally trying day Mabi watched as votes and suspicions were cast, several of them falling on her. But ultimately they had killed the young stud Mac who proved to be innocent. She snapped out of her reverie, and got out the bench, trying to get indoors for the coming night. Bartson's was empty, and she felt that she need some time alone to sort out her emotions.
  6. Sorry guys been trying to get to a working computer for a while now, but my phone will have to do since there are so many people asking that I defend myself. So first in my defense I was voting after the people that had initially voted against me when Asp had voted against me. That meant Clan or Xaneth. As there wasn't much discussion going on at the time I had to guess one before I went to sleep. When I woke up and finally got to a computer to see that Xaneth was a Connector I was disappointed that I had guessed wrong. Mabi was going through emotional turmoil. She was in part responsible for the death of Xaneth who turned out to be a Connector or some such nonsense of magical power user. Still he was not against the village. He was not responsible for the death of Cyrus. For that she felt grief. She was also in pain. She had followed the doctor's orders and had been treating her injuries with care. Going beyond her means to keep the bandages changed, the stiching clean, and not exerting herself keeping to the bed. But that did not mean that her wounds didn't hurt. Irritation and itching sensations intermingled with the pain making it hard for her to rest. She was also hurting emotionally. This was not the first time that she had been suspected for the death of Cyrus. Some callused part of herself thought that she should be used to this now. That she should live out her words and be happy to have what little life she did have. But in combination with the grief and pain she found that she was losing her capacity to look at life with her normal positive attitude. What could she say that would sway the hearts of men that she had known for the better part of a decade? Mabi made her way toward the center of the crowd, leaning heavily on the crutch that The Doctor had provided her. "You all have asked me to defend myself. And in truth I do not believe that I can sway the hearts and minds here that would see me dead." "I can only say that I want to live. I would strip myself bare here standing in front of you if I thought that would sway your opinion. In fact I know some of you have seen me as such already and I see no shame in my form. But alas I know that some of you here will not be swayed by that and would rather see me dead for transgressions that I have not committed." "I loved Cyrus and all that he represented. I owed. No I still owe my life to his efforts. I owe my freedom and over a decade of joy-filled memories to what he did. I would not be involved with such treachery against him." She ended with tears streaming down her face. She did not know whether the tears were from the emotions that she had touched upon, or that her wounds were ailing her. Whatever the case she found that she did not have the energy to continue her impassioned speech. She started making her way back through the crowd and toward a seat. "If we must do this horrible thing then let it be so." She continued on her voice deadened, "The time that I voted first, I cast the stone against Xaneth. I was horribly wrong and I do not want to bear that guilt again." "If the majority of you vote to kill me, then let it be so. As much as I would want to live, if I must continue to go through this life with suspicion continuing to be cast against me I will endure this bleak existence."
  7. I'll start things in case there is no extension. Mabi quietly raised her voice, still injured from the previous day. I vote for Xaneth.
  8. Well this is interesting. It makes me think that an earlier comment about how the Spiked were trying to save Erendi by throwing a bunch of votes at me. It's kinda odd how Mabi either got a Soothed vote OR Clan is a Connector and is storing his votes. (If votes against Mabi are getting soothed then thank you!) So not knowing if Mabi will survive the night (although there are far more appealing targets out there for Coinshots) here is what I'm thinking so far relative to the information that I have about my character so far. Day 1 - Erendi and Mabi both had three votes against them, but only 2 votes for Mabi were counted. The people that voted for Mabi were: Asp, Clan, and Xaneth Day 2 - Asp was lynched and he was one of the three people that voted for Mabi in what I assume was an attempt to save Erendi. In my opinion this casts some suspicion against Clan and Xaneth (I would like to emphasize that it is suspicion and not actually an accusation). Additionally Clan has voted on both Day 1 and Day 2 against Mabi. In my opinion these are the two most likely situations in respect to Clan. Either: 1 - He is a Connector Ferring and is storing his votes. 2 - He is a Spiked and someone Soothed votes against Mabi. (I realize a third option is a Spiked Connector, but that doesn't make as much sense since if he were to store his vote then Erendi would be back on the chopping block) My suggestion (if there is still a Seeker out there - I haven't been keeping consistent track sadly) is if we can verify Clan and Xaneth's identity it may be helpful in our situation. Okay now that my thoughts are aired onto RP! Mabi was in pain, the soreness from the previous night paled in comparison to what she was feeling now. She had been caught in the stray spray of coins as Asp had entered his death throes as the entire village had realized that the crazy village peddler had been much more dangerous than they had realized. While she was glad that another one of the killers that had started to plague the village was dead, she couldn't really celebrate with the others that had escaped unscathed. She was on the ground, one coin had landed in her leg on her left thigh, another in her right bicep. She was keeping still laying on her right side, following Selvar's orders to keep still and pressure on the wounds. She did her best to keep pressure on her arm, and someone else was helping her keeping pressure on her leg. I suppose that mean that they flipped my dress and petticoat up? I can feel the wind down there. She wasn't really sure who it was as her eyes were closed tight as she just focused on blocking out the pain and trying to keep calm. I'm going to need a new dress. An idle thought surfaced in her mind as she thought about having to repair what would now be a blood-stained dress. I hope that these coins are going to be enough to pay Selvar to patch me up, and hopefully some left over to go towards a new dress. Numbness was slowly settling in on her injured arm and leg replacing the pain, she could no longer feel the warmth of whoever was applying pressure to her leg. She could distantly hear voices around her, it seemed that Selvar's voice was near, telling her that it wasn't too bad that that she'd be up and about by night fall. Part of herself doubted that, but she wasn't the doctor, just the occasional assistant for her skill with needles.
  9. Well that was an interesting re-read to catch up with things. Sorry for the inactivity for the past bit, been busy. Now then seems that there is a bit of suspicion being cast on Asp and on Mabi. I understand that some of the suspicion that is being cast on Mabi has to do with RP reasons. I guess I should have made it clear that Mabi's RP will be based off of the information that she has, not the information that I have. It will also be written ambiguously just like previous posts. That said I will likely be unable to convince players not to vote for Mabi. Also sorry that I missed my chance to vote on the last day, but as it turns out me not voting gave us clearer information than if I had voted for Elendi (since Mabi was in contention for the chopping block). Or at least it seems that way to me. Now then, to recap on what Mabi has been up to. Mabi was concerned. Yesterday she had nearly been killed by the common consensus of three people that had cast their vote for her. It made her sick to think that men that she had known for the last decade wanted to kill her in their pursuit for information about Cyrus' killer. It was to her great relief that Elendi was hung instead, how or why she didn't understand, but she was alive yet another day and she would cherish it. She would cherish and enjoy each day that she had, fate willing it would be many more. She would swallow her words from earlier and do her best to live them out. She made her way to the tavern and spent the remaining day and night imbibing, laughing, and seeking the pleasures of life. When she awoke the next morning she found herself in a room with one of the caravan hands. Her head was pounding likely due to the hangover from the previous night. It had been a long time since she had had that much to drink. Tasting her dry mouth she faintly tasted lingering bile meaning that she had had more to drink than she had realized. Still from the soreness of her body she felt content in how she had spent what may be her last day of life, if the previous day was any indication. Moving from the covers she assessed the state of her dress. Her hands moved to the needle and thread that were kept in her mending kit, moving to repair the damage to her dress and undergarments from the young man's passion. Least she assumed that was the case, she couldn't really remember all of last night, but looking at the sleeping body partially covered on the bed it seemed likely that the rips and tears of her clothes were due to the young muscled man. Her morning was spent repairing her only dress, and smiling at the young caravan hand as he woke. She convince him to pay for a bath, sending him down to Bartson to have some water heated, and soap set aside. Once all that was attended, and she was convinced that she was presentable, she made her way out of Bartson's to find the others in conversation about the next person that would be lynched. It seemed that again she was under suspicion of being involved in the deaths, although after asking around it seemed that only Clan had actually voted against her. It seemed that most suspicion was being cast against Asp, the town peddler. She remembered that he was prone to crazy mutterings that varied from dark to lighthearted, and had also been one of the people that had voted against her. She had bought needle and thread from him from time to time in the past years but she honestly did not know much about the man, other than his crazy ramblings. It seemed that the others were talking about the crazy powers that some people had, and that Asp's death would be an inevitable fact unless they had proof of something else. She was not thrilled that there would be another death, but it seemed that she might have another day to live, a thought that made her feel warm and content thinking about what she would do tonight. She decided to keep silent for now, and collect information, casting her vote when she knew more about the state of votes, and whether or not she would be killed. She would vote this time if it meant saving herself, and not be frozen in horror from the suspicion that was cast against her.
  10. Mabi was disappointed that her attempts to steer the conversation concerning this horrible task in a direction was interpreted as suspicious behavior. While she understood that she was steering suspicion away from herself in her advice, she understood that perhaps it would only draw suspicion towards herself by doing so. Mabi turned towards Meta addressing him, "Meta first off I understand why you have suspicions about me and the other guards. Part of the reason why I asked Gamut to compile the list was to see if that information would assist us in narrowing down potential suspects. I am not so naive that I do not suspect that there maybe men among that list that may have betrayed Cyrus. But we must begin somewhere." "I do not know if my words will sway people for or against voting for me at the moment, but as Meta mentions we must continue our dialogue about this horrible decision. I do not know for whom I will vote for at this point in time. As we still need more information to better ascertain for whom we vote. In the meanwhile though, I shall seek to enjoy life, whether or not I am lynched or the foul people who killed Cyrus kill me." "Meta my dear, if I survive today do you mind if I stay the night with you? Perhaps we can assuage each other's fears of action or inaction."
  11. "Dane dear," Mabi replied, as she had collected herself and dried her tears deciding that with all the doom and gloom that was going around things needed a more cheerful tone. She smiled. "I believe that the word that you are looking for is empathize, not emphasize, although if you did mean emphasize I do wonder what you wanted emphasized." She closed the distance between them reaching out and held his hand squeezing it gently and trying to do her best to comfort him with her smile. "I'll account your wordplay as part of your distress." She let go of his hand moving to his side and whispered in his ear adding a playful tilt to her tone "Although I pray for our future security that you do not find yourself in distress and stumble upon your words when you deal with passing noblemen and ministry members." She added breathily, "Perhaps you are in need of some practice speaking while under distress." She put a little more distance between Dane and herself letting him stew on what she said. Turning to the rest of the people in a more serious tone raising her voice, "If we must do this horrible thing I believe that we ought to look into the people who were not guarding Cyrus last night. While it does not exonerate myself and the other guards from what occurred one of the things that we do know is that the actual killers killed Cyrus outside of the house. I don't know about the rest of you, but I certainly could not keep up with Cyrus when he was moving with those powers of his. If we can isolate those people it will help us to act with more clarity in this awful situation. This is one of the few pieces of information that we do know at this point." @Peng I'm assuming that the Spiked person that made the false cries for help, were not part of the people that were at Cyrus' house as your write-up mentions that the sound came from outside. Additionally I'm presuming that the two killers that you mentioned (not that Mabi has this information) were outside and ready to lay ambush. Mabi is under the impression that the killer is outside of the guards group because most of them followed each other as part of a group to find Cyrus' body. She sought out Gamut, making eye contact, "Gamut! Would you be a dear and help us organize ourselves into who was guarding Cyrus and who elected to stay at home?"
  12. Mabi was tired from the previous night, from the emotional and physical stresses that plagued her. The death of Cyrus to whom she was indebted to for her freedom was still something that she was processing. Without realizing it in her deadened stupor she had returned to his house and fallen asleep there. When she woke she could feel the salt from her tears as she had mourned the loss of a man that was a great friend to her. Looking out the window the light was already up, and from the sounds outside a town meeting was in progress of forming. She needed to look presentable in the light, and wash away some of the salt from her tears. She found Cyrus' washbasin and mirror and cleaned herself up as best she could, and tried to smooth out the wrinkles of her dress. On her way out she noticed one of the children staring at something, and in the light of day she saw the etched scrawl on the side of the wall. Her limited literacy made it so that she could only piece together some words here and there for some of the messages, although she did find the symmetry of one of the messages aesthetically pleasing, until she tried comprehending the actual meaning. She had dallied enough and she made her way toward the town meeting, just to hear young and handsome Dane ask for her to account for herself. Others quickly interrupted and Mabi took some time to collect her thoughts about what had happened, digging past the grief that she felt to the man to whom she owed her life and freedom for the past decade and a half. She got closer to Dane to make sure that he would be able to hear her as well as anyone else who decided to listen to her. "Dane, as you and many of us know I was one of the people that volunteered to stay with Cyrus at his house last night." She turned to Maw and some of the other volunteers who had stayed with Cyrus to try to stop his death from happening searching their expressions, "I was with the others when for no apparent reason Cyrus up and dashed out the door. We didn't even know what was happening, otherwise we would have tried to keep up with him or stop him, but he was just too fast!" The words tumbled out her her mouth the memories and the sense of helplessness that she had felt the previous night weighing heavily in her mind. "By the time we caught up with him as a group he was already.." Her words dried up, she couldn't bear recalling that memory and tears threatened to takeover her. Mabi focused on her breathing trying to keep herself under control. "Afterwards I must have followed the crowd." She finished. "What about you Dane, you were with the rest of us that stayed at Cyrus', did you notice anything else?"
  13. Mabi was stunned along with the other villagers. She was still processing what had happened. Cyrus had run out the door surprising herself and so many others. None had been able to follow him quickly enough, at least not quickly enough to try to protect him. She followed the others dismayed at what had happened. Despite all that had happened, the villagers rallying around him he was dead. Did he betray them? Why would he run out the door away from the protection and comfort of the others? Why would he ...? Questions turned within her, preoccupying her thoughts, she had not processed what the others were saying mutely following them after the horror that she had experienced.
  14. Just realized that Mabi is the only female character...? Least looking at the list it seems this way. Mabi watched in abashed horror as veiled accusations and violence filled the air. She was so disappointed in their township. Cyrus was still alive and breathing and yet chaos threatened to Ruin everything that they had built for the past decade. And everyone was talking so much so quickly that Cyrus, the person that they were trying to rally around had barely gotten a word in. She stepped a bit to the side of Meta making eye contact with Cyrus, "Cyrus, perhaps you should say something? Before things get more off topic?" She paused, "And also let me know if I can stay the night?" she added with a wink.
  15. I have no clue either…I'm just trying to write ambiguously.
  16. Mabi looked at the other villagers, many of them showed apprehension about an impending attack on Cyrus. She had lived in this village since near the founding, being in one of Cyrus' later campaigns to free plantation skaa. The normalcy of city-like life was a reminder of younger days, and with Cyrus gone destabilizing the foundation for city life she felt as if she were about to relive the nightmare that had landed her as a plantation skaa over a decade ago. She certainly did not want to see Cyrus dead, but what was she to do? Fight? Her skills were with needles and thread. With pouring beer and walking a straight line while innebriated and balancing a tray of beers. What good would that do Cyrus, a Mistborn with access to the powers of eight Allomantic Metals. She didn't even understand all those different powers. She liked to think of herself as blessedly normal, and what could a normal person do to help a man that had powers far beyond her understanding? You could lend him your support. A small voice said from within her. But what support would that be? Fix his clothes after they had been damaged in a scuffle in the night? Serve him a beer as he died? She wouldn't be able to protect him without risking her own life. Perhaps the most good she could do would be to serve as a living shield, but that was far more than she was willing to give. Still she owed so much to Cyrus and this town. Would it be so bad to give her life for something like that? Her inner conflict continued to swirl around in circles, indecision plaguing her. When Dane, the resident confidence man and fake nobleman, stood up saying that he would do his best to aid Cyrus it struck Mabi as one of his gestures. Something that was natural to him. For Mabi, what would her general response be if not for the wanton death and chaos that seemed to be plaguing their small township. She ought to be pleasant, she ought to be optimistic. But that was hard when facing potential violence. Midst her minds thoughts she found her answer, her 'normal' response. She sought out Maw telling him in a solemn tone, "Sorry Maw. I think I'll have to visit your house another time." She paused still trying to find the right words for what she had found within herself, "Cyrus, he needs the support from all of us wherever he can find it. So I'm going to support him by staying at his home." She walked up to Cyrus with as much confidence as she could muster, trying to hide the doubts and fears that she had. "Cyrus dear! Dane makes a good point, we should lend what aid we can to each other." She smiled letting her tone brighten a bit, "Perhaps you can lend me the aid of your roof? I'd like to keep you company tonight."
  17. At the ringing of the town bell Mabi sadly left her seat which gave her a beautiful view of the young muscular working men moving packages between Bartson's tavern and their wagons. Cyrus was probably calling a town meeting. Probably in response to the horrible events that had recently taken place. It was unfortunate that it had happened as some of the…victims were rather generous patrons and had provided for her more than once.
  18. Mabi turned in response to Maw. Both Wark and Maw were both farmers, although Maw was higher up in management of farming. HIs comment about the single bedroom was a moot issue as Wark's 'humble' abode was smaller and less lavish. But she didn't want to offend Wark especially when he offered her breakfast the following morning. While Maw would be more pleasurable and appealing company, the offer for a meal was not to be dismissed. She backtracked a bit catching up to Maw sauntering the last few steps, "I'll be by a bit later." She whispered, "And besides, the prospect of a single room is no bother to me, and two people in the same room is much cozier and warmer, especially with the nights getting colder. It's also a more efficient arrangement." Before he could respond she dashed off catching up to Wark before he could notice in his self absorbed ramblings. When he reached his abode, the stench of a lived in hovel assaulted her senses nearly demanding that she leave for fresh air. As Wark gave his introductory spiel, mentioning his dog and the pallet on the far side she noticed that he was becoming harder to understand through his alcohol induced slurring. He promptly passed out. That left the dog. She regarded the dog calmly. Baldrick. Who in the Lord Ruler's name give a dog the name Baldrick? She wondered idly. The dog seemed more interested in his - or was is a her?- master. She found a relatively clean woven basket and picked through the soiled linens and assorted garments, she would wash them tomorrow. That done she closed the door behind her, as to not let Baldrick out. She left the basket near the door so she would be able to pick it up easily the next day. Off she went, working towards the taverns. Hopefully she would find someone better yet than Maw's offer. The after seeing the place Wark's living circumstances were even more lacking than she had thought possible. Still it was better than some other places in Luthadel that she had lived in, but those memories were not to be dwelt on. If she did not find a better offer than Maw, she'd need to find a way to be compensate him, and later soothe the ego of Wark, possibly by cleaning his place up. Of course, if there were more pressing or enjoyable uses for her time she would follow through with that instead. She was brought out of her reverie as she found that she needed to choose between Dyring's tavern and Bartson's tavern. Then she saw Alon's young, athletic, stablehands working busily at Bartson's. Bartson's it is.
  19. Dangit, just re-read through Wark's accent and figured out what he was saying about those pink trousers Mabi followed Wark at a respectable distance, neither looking forward to tonight nor dreading it with any special loathing. Wark's appearance, temperament, and other characteristics were by far less than ideal, but then again there were worse people for company. He was a rather tragic soul that had been destroyed by the harshness of the world. She herself had almost succumbed to it, but those were memories better left in the past. "Of couse Wark, I'll help you with a pair of trousers" perhaps run some through a dying vat, should I visit the tinker or the tanner? "And thank you for your kind offer for shelter and a meal." She paused, "I'll accompany you to fetch your trousers, but I'll work on them outside where I still have some light. I might stop by one of the taverns to get some dinner though, and see if I can't get some more work. A girl's got to earn her keep." The smell of his house was rather pungent with the reek of alcohol, and she would like to better prepare herself if possible. Also possibly a passerby would invite her to a home that was a better option than Wark.
  20. Hey there, I'll join in since it seems that I missed the first couple. As OOC introductions I'm Lanscaper one of the people that lurks and contributes from time to time in Mistborn: the Inquisition. I shall expand my horizons a bit here and play a female character. You can call her Mabi. She spent most of her youth in Luthadel. She's had two different jobs back in Luthadel, her day job as a textile mill worker and then moonlighting as a bar maid. But those days are in the past, due to questionable circumstances her contract was sold to a plantation that Cyrus ultimately ended up freeing. Now she's the town seamstress, she makes sure that you lot are all presentable in decent company, mending whatever holes or rips you have in your clothes with neat stitching. She's at that middling age where she is fairly experienced with the world, but still shapely enough to be admired. Politely put she is shameless in her admiration and attention to the young working man, although most of this is non-verbal and internal, unless she's drunk, which can be difficult given her past as a bar maid. As the seamstress she knows your sizes, and whether or not you were asking for hidden pockets. She doesn't really understand the obsession for hidden pockets, since she wears a nice and plain dress and apron, and an apron has all the pockets a person could need, one. She could also care less about all this Allomantic nonsense that people seem to be concerned about. "Now then gentlemen, which one of you would like to provide me with a roof and a bed tonight?" I forgot to mention, she also doesn't have a permanent home. She bothers you all equally for shelter, and compensates you with services rendered. Also let me know if I should make changes to this character
  21. Hello Brandon, Thanks for doing this and answering all these questions. I am personally the most immersed in the world of Scadrial and thus I have the following questions. 1. When an Allomancer burns atium does that alter the Spiritweb of said Allomancer? 2. After Sazed changed the Allomantic table (restoring cadmium and bendalloy to the table, after Preservation had replaced them earlier with atium and malatium), do atium Mistings no longer exist? 3. Within the Mistborn Adventure Game I noticed that Hemalurgy had a pattern of the raw metal (iron, tin, copper, zinc) having a human trait and the alloys (steel, pewter, bronze, brass) stole either a Allomantic or Feruchemical trait. Yet when we moved onto the Enhancement and Temporal metals the pattern is broken. I am wondering if it's a happenstance pattern, or if this was done on purpose, and broken on purpose. 4. This is more a curiosity than a serious question, but what is your favorite food within the cosmere? Again thanks, Lanscaper
  22. There is an interview question somewhere that established that making a Hemalurgic spike did not necessarily kill the person. But it said nothing about the strength of the spike, nor about which spikes could be made in such a manner. Also your question is a little hard to understand but I'll answer it to the best of my ability. Hemalurgy to my knowledge is about which metal composes the spike, where you drive the spike into the person from whom the power is being taken, and then where the spike is driven into the recipient. The pure metals steal human traits, and the alloys steal either Allomantic or Feruchemical traits. Steel is used to take physical Allomancy, Pewter is used to take physical Feruchemy (Iron, Steel, Tin, Pewter), Bronze and Brass are used to take either Mental Allomancy or Cognitive Feruchemy (Zinc, Brass, Copper, and Bronze). When we get to the enhancement and temporal metals the pattern of pure metal and alloy is broken, here Aluminum steals enhancement Allomancy and Duralumin steals the Spiritual Feruchemy. After that for the temporal metals all we know is that Gold steals Feruchemical Hybrid metals. As for the binding points there are some diagrams floating around about the various bind points, but no where is it mentioned that the effects of the spike vary depending on the bind point. Putting a spike into a bind point in your leg should have the same effect as putting the spike into the bind point in your heart, however it will have various anatomical/health effects on the recipient that create variation. Like removing a spike in the heart will have more profound effects than removing a spike in the leg.
  23. So Duralumin...does squat Allomantically. And I'm assuming that you are using the convention of listing the Allomantic trait first, and the Feruchemical trait second. Duralumin Gnat/Copper Archivist - So...as I said earlier, duralumin is useless unless you're a Mistborn or Allomantically endowed with Hemalurgy. Duralumin needs another metal to be burned to have any significant effect other than alerting Seekers that you are a Misting, causing the Mists to react to you, or perhaps eliminate someone else's duralumin supply. The question of what it does with a copper Archivist. An Archivist is able to feign photographic memory, and reversely and wipe their memory clean in moment. In terms of combat there is no potential here, other than to serve as a nice distraction. But in terms of making a distraction, alerting a person that you are a Misting can be quite alarming, and people who over think scenarios might think that you could be a Mistborn, or assume that you are a dangerous Misting if there is no Seeker around to identify you. The Archivist allows you to also be a powerful intelligence agent, the ultimate memory tool for spy work. Together you have a spy that can attempt to bluff their situation by saying that you are a Misting, and either draw attention to yourself, or perhaps use your status as a Misting to deter people from pursuing you (learn a few illusionist tricks, perhaps from your Archivist knowledge, and make some jaws drop in disbelief). Duralumin Gnat/Electrum Pinnacle - Again the same duralumin traits. Instead of the ultimate memory, you have rock solid determination, and the ability to send yourself into depression at will. You can pretend to be a mental patient of the bipolar variety. You can also serve as a massive distraction, your determination allowing you to add another depth of confidence to that bluff (perhaps the most convincing that you are an insane Misting that might very well rip their head off if they don't leave you alone). Duralumin Gnat/Malatium ... well there is no know Feruchemical uses for Malatium. Duralumin Gnat/Nicrosil Soubearer - Well then this one is interesting. A Soulbearer Ferring has the ability to store Investiture. This requires that the user have other metalminds...wait that sounds familiar. Duralumin requires other metals...Nicrosil requires other metalminds...hmm. However...there is something that is mentioned in the Mistborn Adveture Game. If the player with a nicrosil metalmind is exposed to a source of great power or is subject to an increase in power from Duralumin or Nicrosil Allomancy, that player may choose to store that power in their nicrosil metalmind rather than letting the power go through their body (I'm paraphrasing). So in theory when a Duralumin Gnat burns his 'useless' Duralumin he is subject to a massive flow of power of well...Duralumin which has no physical world application. However a nicrosil metalmind is able to capture that surge of power before it can enter the body, and store it as raw Feruchemical potential. If TLR had a nicrosil metalmind, he could instantly recharge it by burning Duralumin, which he knows about, and thus use that to help fuel his atium metalmind. Hopes that he is interpreting the Adventure Game correctly Duralumin Gnat/Bendalloy Subsumer/Cadmium Gasper - Okay I'm not sure how to interpret this one, do you mean that the Duralumin Gnat has access to both Subsumer and Gasper abilities simultaneously? Or did you get tired of giving each their own line? I'll wait for you to respond till I answer this one, I'm getting sleepy.
  24. I also think that is has to do with if the person is a full Feruchemist, or a Ferring. In my opinion I think that a Ferring would not be able to access the re-forged metalmind, as their spiritweb is not able to cope with the change of medium. But perhaps a full Feruchemist might be able to follow that charge of power despite the different medium.
  25. Well, we aren't sure how much landmass is included in the world. We know that there is two 'colonies' of humanity. The first is what we are most familiar with, the second is a group that Rashek left alone in terms of genetics in case he made a royal mistake. We don't know if the second colony is on a land mass, if they are living underground, or what... We also don't know what percentage of the world is water, and thus if currents are able to be formed. We do know that in the era of TLR winters did have snow, which suggest that ice caps are a possibility, but also less likely due to the closer proximity to the sun. If there were ice caps somewhere it creates a high likelihood that ocean currents exist which can substitute for tides in some ways. Also we have no clue what the salinity of the oceans are...that will also have an effect on how currents form and what not. As for weather effects. Well there is not too much of an effect there. Because of the day/night cycle we can assume that the world is spinning, from the Ashmounts being a form of volcano we can imply that there is some level of platetectonics and a molten core, meaning there is a good chance of EM shielding. The world spinning creates variability in where hot and cold spots occur, as well as high and low pressure fronts. So I personally don't think that their weather is drastically different from ours. What it does mean though is that when the world was formed it was subject to more...meteoric impacts. Our moon acts like a shield of sorts and took the impact of several life altering asteroids.
