Is it going to be the party? As in again? This is going to get tiring reading the same events 7 more times. It would not likely be Dalinar (how do you hide spoilers?) as he would be like, Gav said to keep to the codes tonight, gunna drink anyway.

Gavilar most likely, seeing as we now know (spoilers again but not really) what the anti glow stone was/is.

We're only going to see that party twice more: once for Eshonai's book, and once for Stones Unhallowed (Szeth's book).  There's a WoB that I don't have time to dig out atm.  EDIT: Never mind, it's higher up the thread.

    SPOILER ALERT

Sorry, but: Please keep in mind that those are Oathbringer spoilers and as such, your topic should have the [OB] tag on it so we know. That way, people who haven't read it won't get spoilers such as those, if you can find a way to edit the post.

(using spoiler tags for big OB spoilers in case anyone who hasn't read it accidentally wanders on before this change is made:)

The spoiler tag button is the eye.  You may have misclicked on the quote button.

You should be able to recharge the sand with any investiture, actually. So yes.

We've actually seen that process used in other books, actually.  Stormlight spoilers:

    Spoiler

In Oathbringer, Hoid uses a jar of spent sand as a Radiant detector, which tips him off to Shallan's presence.

He could be the source of the blade Azure(Vivenna) had.

To produce spoiler boxes, press the eye icon in the post editor.  Welcome to the Shard!

  5. That is certainly plausible, although I suspect Hoid's antipathy for Bavadin runs far deeper than "She's keeping me from getting my favorite food!"  It is a good first theory, though.  Welcome to the Shard!

    Hi!  Welcome to the Shard!

Lift often mention to be ten years old from three years because she doesn't want to admit she is growing up. In a scene we have also the direct prove of her growing up, in that scene she had her first period and this make her freaking out a bit.

It's implied that her first period is what triggered her run to Yeddaw, but we don't see it on-screen.

You see several times in Oathbringer that Odium is very, unusually specific about keeping to the letter AND intent of his agreements.  First with Dalinar, actually warning him off making a bad decision in the first visited vision.  He doensn't let Dalinar let him leave free and clear.  He, for some reason, advises him against it.    The second time is near the end, when he makes it overwhelmingly clear he will stick to the spirit of his deal with Taravangian.

Is he, though? Oathbringer spoilers in the box:

    Spoiler

Sure he kept Dalinar from just letting him go, but he was hoping to get Dalinar as a puppet general later, which means he would have been able to do anything he wanted with the lion's share of Honor's power (and Champion!Dalinar would have done anything asked of him, to keep from feeling the pain again).  And later, he specifically chooses a day when Taravangian could not negotiate from a position of strength, in order to get him to do anything he wanted.  If Odium was really interested in dealing fairly, he would have picked a day when Taravangian was more able to negotiate at all, or he would have refrained from reading the Diagram.  He did neither of those things.  Also, this is the guy who keeps calling himself "Passion" and painting himself the good guy (as opposed to the cowardly Cultivation or the hidebound Honor).  I'm not inclined to trust what he says in the slightest.

Yeah, and the individual safety devices in the skyships will probably take the form of a fall-slow-rial and not be easily confused with knapsacks. It's an old joke, and something is lost in the adaptation.

I was referring to the fact that both Lift and Dalinar are (technically) Radiants.  And therefore have a healing factor.

The sky ship is on fire and going down. The last three passengers are Dalinar, Lift, and Taravangian. There are only two parachutes.

Taravangian: I am the smartest man in the world, and even if I were inclined to give up my spot for one of you simpletons, the greater good demands that I save myself! Wheeee!

    Lift: Noooo!

Dalinar: Child, go. I have lived a full life. Tell Navani....

Lift: You're gonna be fine, tight butt. The smartest man in the world just jumped with my starvin' lunch!

    Lift: Also, can't you heal?

I think all of this suggests that Honor purposefully imbued the Stormfather with a significant portion of his power before his death. Maybe Honor and Cultivation had a plan much like Preservation had one in Mistborn.

Oh, H+C definitely have a plan.  Even if Honor didn't make one, Cultivation certainly did.  Now how much of that plan is still in play, or is yet to come, is probably only known to Cultivation, but still, if Preservation can outplan his counterpart while mad and dying, Cultivation is more than a match for Odium while sane.

Is Harmony counted as a shard that could be chosen? I know that there is a WoB that says that Brandon counts them as two shards.

Two shards that are now inextricably linked, also by WoB.

If Sazed were to die, would he drop the Shards Ruin and Preservation, or would he drop the Shard Harmony?

    Brandon Sanderson

Excellent question. The shards are now intermingled, and would take effort to split apart. He would drop Harmony. (This is what Odium feared would happen, by the way.)

    Wait, what about Saphira???

Dies to Shardblade like any chasmfiend.  Fire breath can be mitigated by Stormlight, flight removed via Lashings (of either variety, although the one-two punch of Partial Lashing to disorientate, then Full Lashing to stick Saphira to the ground would be highly effective in this regard).  The eldunari might be an issue, as it is basically a gemheart with Saphira's innate Investiture inside, but that's one point of difficulty inside a giant shell of scaly meat.

Odium and Hoid were once friends.

We have a WoB.  (OMG Arcanum is so much better for this!) EDIT: Sneaky ninjas!

Aether of Night as written is definitely not canon, but it very much so seems he wants to include the magic system.  Spoiler for Oathbringer.

      Reveal hidden contents

At one point in the book Mraize commends his essentially dry cleaner for being able to remove Aether from his jacket? shirt?  I can't remember exactly, but that again shows that Brandon wants the magic system to exist in some form or fashion.

    OB spoilers:

    Spoiler

The "aether" mentioned there is uncapitalized, and is thus mundane (by the Rule of Important Capital Letters, adhered to by many works).  It's a type of chemical, also spelled "ether" (those of you who've played Pokemon might recognize that particular spelling), apparently sweet smelling but very volatile.  Given that it is also colorless, I suspect Mraize's mention of it (and his subsequent mention of the cleaning lady's bonus) was a feint to get her out of the room so he could chat up the Herald.

I don't know why she hasn't thought of how she could use her abilities to get infinite free meals from people. Injured people could just come to her with food. She'd put all of Kharbranth out of business and be fed constantly. Sounds like heaven.

She'd be a sort of itinerant doctor, that heals people that are bedridden/crippled/whatever in exchange for them cooking her meals.  (She'd be a lot happier doing that than sitting in an office all day being brought food and miserable people)

6)Lopen does not seem to hate, or have strong negative feelings against anyone.  How will this affect his Third Ideal - "I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right?"  I know there is some variation and personalization from Radiant to Radiant, but the core of the ideal seems to remain the same.  Swearing to protect those you hate when you do not seem to hate at all seems facetious.  How will he manage this, or will he be stuck at two ideals until he finds someone to hate?

    This question right here. Please!

If I had to hazard a guess, that particular ideal would morph into something along the lines of "I will protect those that don't deserve it, if the need is there."
