Just got Elantris today
Not sure if this is the right place but the Word of Brandon thread was closed!
Something to look forward too. Feel free to share it.

Transcript:
Question: Can a nahel bonded spren safely world hop with their bondmate?
Answer: RAFO! Book 3 gives some clues.
9 -
No, I think their ships will just work in three stages:
1. Conventional reaction-mass rocket to accelerate to some arbitrary speed toward its target
2. Yank the mass out of the rocket to hurl it along at 99.99...% the speed of light
3. Start bendalloy hopping
I didn't mean the only thing. But the ships do seem to use alkali metals as an actual power source.
0 -
Well it makes you wonder if the FTL requirements for space-faring Scadrial society uses Francium to power their ships as it is the ultimate Alkali metal.

We know that Andonalsium seeded the universe in with bits of himself, IE the original source of Spren and the like. It could be someone collected enough of these bits from various soruces and turned them against it. A mini shard if you will.
My personal theory until we get more information... Hoid told a really bad joke in hopes of gaining Its attention and it shattered from the horribleness of the joke. In its final moments it cursed Hoid to spend the rest of his life improving his humor or face the wrath of Odium. Thus Wit was born.

On a purely Plasma blade of a Lightsaber vs a Shardblade? I'd say stalemate. Even synthetic crystals used in lightsabers have to be attuned to the force before a lightsaber even works. Most lightsabers use Kyber crystals which very much are force attuned. Essentially SW's equivalent of Investment. And since the lightsabers some how produce that plasma through force attuned crystals... I'd say the plasma itself has a level of investiture, not including a Shard wieldier having to fight the magnetic containment.
The real question we have to ask, is how much damage can a spren's shard form hold up to physical thermal damage? Are they truly indestructable? I ask this because lightsabers are essentially highly confined miniature suns in the way they can tear through metals that have 3000F+ melting temperatures like theyare butter.
Now a Radiant vs a Jedi is a whole other animal.

I suppose you might be able to ask.
Hopefinder was two when he Returned and he continued to grow until maturity
No idea where this is in the book. My computer version is from Brandon's website in Notepad.
I mean that someone growing can't store age or that the returned/fifth heightening can't store age. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Well Returned have immortality but when a child Returns they continue to develop until maturity so I doubt that the Feruchemist would be unable to Store Age.
What are you basing this on if I might ask?
I'm not sure I understand how you are relating being able to store Age to maturity. Returned though aren't the only ones that reach fifth heightening though. It only takes roughly 3500 breaths.
Hoid in his particular case I'm thinking used his light weaving to earn them or most of them. If he gained them during the time we saw him in Warbreaker I imagine he could have up to 340 years to have put them to good use filling it Metalminds if you go by the fact that the time between Mistborn and Stormlight is that same amount of time with warbreaker happening somewhere in it.
Also based on how long the human population of Roshar has been around for thousands of years even with skipping it Hoid has to have been alive for a very very long local time to himself.

I forgot to add that the simplistic nature of the warcamps structures are due to efficiency not the simplistic nature of soulcasters.
I forget what page it was but when Andolin was watching them soulcast a new building he specifically states there are certain shapes and layouts that can't be soulcasted due to the fabrial's limitations.

I was just thinking that Hoid could potentially have been using the fifth heightening for a while to get around not growing old. Then I though about the fact that he has Feruchemy as well.
As we know Fifth Heightening allows for functional immortality in terms of aging, furthermore there is the disease and poison resistance. Now the question is, what would the affect of constantly storing age and health while under fifth heightening? Would they notice as significant effects?
I imagine Hoid or some other Feruchemist-Awakener could potentially become immortal in all regards by having vast health/age reserves just after a few years or more without the disadvantages of compounding gold or atium and their savantness even when bereft of their breaths
Thoughts?

Use the ability to world hop for pizza delivery.Guarantee its delivery before the next desolation or you'll get your shard blade back.
Lightweave a dictionary to look like a dictionary.
Soulcast the said dictionary into stone paperweight. Tell them its so you can throw the book at them if they get out of line.
Sooth Hoid so he's witty and incorrigible....
Soulcast someone's wine into water while they're drinking it.
Speak the AI Paradoxes to pattern and then riot his interest. (Would that work?)
Capture Humor spren and give it to a parshmen during a highstorm. Soulcast any noble into popcorn if they object.
Soulcast any man who eats Chouta into meat, tell everyone chouta is people!

Uh... what? Of course he could have been a shard bearer, the only reason he wasn't was because he decided to give the ones he won
Its those kinds actions that really kickstarted his Nahel bond
How far into the Stormlight Archives are you?

Hoid: Wait, so how exactly are you making those time bubbles?
Wayne: I swallows the sphere and I burn it. Easy, mate.
Hoid: What?! No, it doesn't work like that! You have to splice into the local Investiture, then draw the raw power into a blank feruchemical store and compound it and... and..
Wayne: *Shrugs and flies into the sunset with Aons, Surge symbols, and Scadrian letters swirling drunkenly around him*
Its Wayne, those symbols turned out to be the little scribbles and characters he annoys Wax's notes with. Though I wonder how different the speed bubbles would be on Roshar. Wish we had a base comparison between Yolen Lightweaving and Yolen Lightweaving on Roshar. We've always seen him use dust everywhere to add to it while Shallon's Lightweaving seems to take without any real aid of a secondary material.
Speed Bubbles on Roshar? How would spren take notice of that? Though Syl would probably love it. We could even see Time Spren.

Tough but not impossible:

Cosmere Q&A - 17th Shard (Verbatim)
Odium's_Shard
Can magic systems from one world work in any given other?Brandon Sanderson
For some, it will take quite a bit of work, but it's possible to get them each to work. Sel's magics are regional, and so they are going to be tough. Scadrial's magics are the easiest.Interview: Aug 4th, 2011
West Jordan Signing Report - 17th Shard (Verbatim)Mi'chelle
If an Elantrian were to get Aon Rao tattooed to them, would it increase their ability to use the Dor, or would it make it so they can use the Dor outside of Elantris?Brandon Sanderson
RAFO.Okay not quite what I remembered unless I missed one that better explained it. But we also know that certain aons are also based on physical locations hence why the rift had to be incorporated into the base aon. Also the WoB that Sel magic all are essentially the same magic system and respond to these changes in similar ways.
I included the second quote mainly because at the very least this individual is probably on the right path. There are probably patterns that can be used like Roshar's vibration derived city patterns as a foundation to access non Dor type Shard investiture.

Aons look like Arelon; soulstamps look like MaiPon. Aons get weaker when you get further from Arelon, right? That's not just cause Elantris acts like a focus?
Brandon Sanderson
That's right, it's based on distance. That's why there are no stamped objects in Elantris.Viper
So do soulstamps get weaker further from MaiPon? If you left Sel via Shadesmar and went to another planet, would the soulstamp stop working?
Brandon Sanderson
That's correct.
Viper
Could soulstamps be carved that used Arelon as a base form instead of MaiPon?Brandon Sanderson
That's very interesting, isn't it?Found it, not definitive but better.

I don't think forgery even works outside of its dominion on Sel (you know, 'cause of Dominion), so Shai might not be as cool as you might think. Pattern would LOVE forgery, though.
I'd like to see Wayne show up, myself. He's probably alive right around the time of the SA, so he would just be getting initiated into worldhopping. It could be a great vehicle for explaining how it all works, what the 17th Shard is up to, etc.
As for Marsh, I suspect that he will show up on Roshar eventually, as it seems that he is to be a part of the greater Mistborn arc, and its space opera trilogy will bring all the Cosmere stories together. I bet that's why his character wasn't given as much development as it seemed to deserve: he's going to be around for centuries, while the others will soon be dead and gone and deserve the limelight during their brief stories.
Most magic systems work in other dominions and shardic planets. They just have to find the right methods of adapting them. WoB states that Sel magic would work anywhere but the glyphs used in the process change to suit the location. Hence why any worldhopper using forgery or AonDor would need to adapt their glyphs to say a more galactic standard (based on constellations) with smattering of local iconography for drawing power.
And yes Wayne would be awesome especially since he isn't dependent on guns either so no one would think him too odd carrying around useless pieces of metal. And he'd be pretty handy at knicking spheres for some stormlight adapted allomancy.

Well to also be fair here, by naming him Gandalf not his true name we've potentially trapped him as the idea of who Gandalf is, not his other aspects. Just like measuring fire spren traps them in that specific measurement, were talking about the scope of who Gandalf is which is limited by the capabilities of what a human could do.
Dumbledore on the other hand is quite comfortable with how much punishment a mortal body can dish out a take.

Well
Um... *cough*
This is embarrassing, I hadn't seen anything like this pop up. And what I was sourcing I hadn't read in a long time.

“Well,” Kelsier said, “I don’t think it matters if you came back. We could just say this is me from the middle of the first Mistborn book. Besides, I think I eventually got better myself.”
“Doesn’t count. You became a disembodied voice that may or may not have actually been speaking into the mind of a young boy who was probably insane.”
“Yes,” Kelsier said, “but my series has a long way to go yet. Who knows what could happen? I’ve heard that some very remarkable things can happen with spikes . . ."
“You’ll find I’m good at doing the impossible,” Kelsier said. “It’s one of my specialties.”
http://sf-fantasy.suvudu.com/2012/03/cage-match-2012-round-4-moiraine-damodred-versus-kelsier.html
1. We know that for a while that Kelsier was basically the caretaker of Preservation after his death, we also know he hung around because of this.
2. Preservation preserves things. This could have a lasting effect on the very nature of Kelsier.
3. We know Hemalurgy being burnt allomantically welds personality and spirit web onto an individual and that Scadrial south has fabrial like allomancy.
Could Kelsier be a world hopper by now? Perhaps someone who had been spiked and imbibed some of the mists? Someone we've already seen? Hell he could even be using a mistwraith's body, reborn as a Kandra, I'm sure his bones are lying around somewhere.
This would make his nickname the Survivor even more literal.

It all depends on how annoyed the fish was with people who poke it in the mouth with hooks.
Magickarp evolved in Odiumdos!

Oh goodness, I don't know. Shai sounds awesome: I'd love to see her interactions with Pattern, Shallan, and Jasnah. Heck, Pattern would probably fangirl over Forgery like no one else could, because of all the delicious lies.
This brings up an interesting thing. Forgery is pretty much universal, you just need to know what symbol to use. All Shai has to do is teach Pattern the concept behind it... Pattern could potentially become an extremely powerful forger when combined with Shallon's imagination. Especially if you consider the fact that Pattern is a pattern is the local symbology of the area is going to be symetrical just like he is... How much do you want to bet Pattern could count as a living soul stamp?

Is this even a contest? Gandalf is Maiar, servant of Eru Ilúvatar aka God aka Creator of ALL. He is not a man, he is freaking angel taken human form. What are guys even talking about? How can mortal wizard challenge servant of the Secret Fire and wielder of the flame of Anor?
Human free will and choice. Divinity often comes with grand restrictions on what you can and can't do. Power is moot if your hands are tied.

What.
Dumbledore, the man who manipulated a seventeen year old boy into committing suicide-by-Voldemort, is a better man than Gandalf?
I really need to process this, and get back to you, because I can't understand how anyone could believe Dumbledore is a better man than Gandalf; I can easily see Gandalf as being wise, kind, compassionate and funny.
As for courage, when you stand toe-to-toe with a Balrog and sacrifice yourself to save your companions... I think you can be considered brave. And that's. It considering the actions that happen offscreen or in the past.
I prefer Dumbledore also in that he's a flawed individual in a lot more ways, the fact that he has been seduced by the temptation of power and that he realizes it and fights against it near the end of his life says volumes about who he is.

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden.
Not that I don't agree but he's not Gandalf or Dumbledore. And frankly I've read enough Dresden Potter crossovers to realize transfiguration trumps a lot of things in Dresdenverse and Dumbledore was a Transfiguration professor.

I'd like to see the WoB for Kandra worldhoppers.
Shai would be rather fun, I could see her being one of the most likely people to actually catch Hoid.
"YOU!"
"Yes its me, the great and powerful Wit- oh dear."
"I almost died because of you!"
"Well looks like things worked out quite well, or rather quite badly for you considering where you are now."
"Execution is not a trifle!"
"Well unless I'm horribly drunk, which I would never put it passed myself to pass up on, it does appear that you got away."
"That's beside the point!"
"Actually its exactly the point, you were safer being executed than standing on the site of the incoming apocalypse."
"Oh."
"That's what I said when my father pointed out my horrible failings in life, how rude of you to bring that up. You don't even look like my father anyways."6 -
Summon the Everstorm... in the middle of the vacuum of space.
Give Odium's shard to a fish.
Someone may have mentioned this one... use aeons for a night light.
Use nightblood for whittling.
Waste all your breath on awakening one's own clothes just because you enjoy the color grey.
