  1. I was just listening to the Emberdark reactions episode of shardcast. Argent brought up the idea of weaponizing stories to control the entities. I have to agree with the general consensus that it would take time. I think this is because people would need to really believe the story for it to affect the cognitive realm. And it would take time to affect anything once people actually do believe.

Also, is this Hoids master plan?

  2. I agree with what’s been said. Magic has a genetic component or at least an inherited component from parents. So  Ferrings having children with Ferrings, and those children who present as Ferrings continuing to have children with other Ferrings would increase the probability of that gene passing on.

I would like to see if Brandon makes use of the eugenics aspect of it in the next series. It could make for a pretty dark setting, where the “true Terris” have become the ruling class. I’m not sure if there will be enough time between Wax and Wayne and the next books for this to happen but it would make for an interesting setting for a Discord story.

  3. I imagine that since the Kandra are just mistwraiths given sapience that they could eat whatever a mistwraith could eat. So pretty much anything. I picture mistwraiths as land jellyfish, just passively cruising around until food finds them. But in the modern age they eat Kandra Kibble.

Kandra Kibble! It’ s loaded with amino acids, vitamin K and all the things your Kandra needs.
    Kandra Kibble! It’s what Kandra’s crave! 😉

  4. I want to say at the first clue. Of course that’s the first clue that I noticed but I immediately thought it was Sigzil. I’m not sure why.

As for the name change @trav it isn’t pointless. Brandon is telling us what happened to this character Sigzil. Nomad isn’t the person we left on Roshar, he’s changed. And in a more practical way he’s also in hiding from the dusk brigade. Then the name change to Zellion is indicating to us that he is changing again.

I hope to find out what that means for our hero in future book.

  5. I agree with the others, This is connection. We know so little about the dawnshards still that this is basically all speculation but as I understand it when sigzil held the dawnshard he formed a connection to the spiritual realm which means he is connected to the whole of the cosmere similar to the shards. He isn’t elsecalling he is jumping to another point. It isn’t something he can directly control. Hoid said that he went where he was needed or something along those lines.

It might also be tied to Fortune which is another thing we know very little about. Either way not a normal magic

I think it's for sure symbolically relevant, though I don't know that it's got anything in terms of in-Cosmere in terms of easter eggs etc.

It's probably more of a meta construct nodding to Adonalsium and the 16 Shards.

Though I can actually make out the 7th Sun just to the below the last really visible one at "3 o'clock". The reason this might be relevant is that of the original Shard holders there are now 7 of them known to be deceased (Aona, Skai, Leras, Ati, Tanavast, Uli Da, and... that new one that happened recently and I don't want to accidentally spoil.)

I was hoping for some major hints for the cosmere but if it's that I can accept it. Especially if we see it correlate to future vessels.

  7. My bad. Sorry for sending everyone down this tangent.

What I was trying to get at is that if we think deadeyes return to shadesmar in the place they were before being summoned then Testament could have been anywhere.

It's odd that she was at Lasting Integrity waiting for Shallan when she arrived. Unless we think there's another reason Testament wanted to go to Lasting Integrity.

I mean the plates still around

after they broke their oaths they probably coudnt dismiss it

and if it wasn’t previously summoned nothing happened

you would never find a deadeye plate spren b/c there are none

    What is your point?

The true spren turned into deadeyes but their blades are still there. If the plate was made of spren what happened to them?

And if the deadeyes can be revived what will happen to the plate?

  9. So she doesn't have a plan for the Cosmere but she's focused on doing her thing whatever that means.

So she could be focused on Nalthis because Brandon's first response is ambiguous or she could have plans off Nalthis but not for the whole of the Cosmere.

  10. So we learned that after Ba-ado-mishrams imprisonment the radiants and their spren decided to break their oaths. This is what created the all the shardblades.

So what about all the shardplate? In RoW we learned that shardplate is made of numerous lesser spren, the non-sapient ones like windspren, flamespren and gloryspren.

They couldn't decide if they wanted to be sacrificed and no one, spren or human, seems to care about that. I wonder what happened to the spren though. Is there a dead eye equivalent?

  11. The title says it all.

The image is one we've seen before and speculated about but this one has an additional layer around the outside. There are six suns visible going clockwise from 11:00 to 3:00 and possibly one more after that. The way they are aligned  allows for 16.

Any thoughts? Just creative license or is there a meaning to this.

Still, no barge with Testament on it in my memory.

The only village I remember is the one where the Inkspren also is and Testament was not waiting for Shallan at that moment

Am I misremembering it. Where does Shallan see Testament?

I don't understand what ship you are talking about, and I see no reason to think Testament was in Lasting Integrity.  The first time we see Testament is when Adolin and Maya notice her in the market, after the barge makes port.  Her Inkspren friend says he has been caring for her here for a year or two, after finding her on an island far to the east - i.e., near the Shattered Plains.

    I meant the barge.

OK so Testament has been in the village for a year or two waiting for Shallan to show up?

Actually he said there was no point keeping them confined anywhere if once unsummoned they didn't returned to the place they where in Shadesmare before being summoned. Shardblades disappearing of Shadesmare when summoned is a fact

    Correct.

As I interpreted it they disappear but return to the place they were before summoned, which is why the honor spren keep deadeyes in lasting Integrity.

So how could Testament be on the ship? Because she was in Lasting Integrity.

  15. I started another thread to discuss deadeyes movement when summoned and dismissed.

Aqua Regia was quick to point out that there would be no point to keeping deadeyes at lasting integrity if they disappeared after being summoned.

If this is true the only way that Testament could have been on that ship is if she had already been at Lasting Integrity when they arrived.
