"What we really need is to corner the market somehow. For too long has House Wair stood aside, content with farming and delivering mail whilst our rivals Tekiel, Orielle and the rest each burrowed into their own little niche," proclaimed Irim, voice haughty and commanding. At least, that's what he thought he sounded like. To Lady Minal he sounded like a whiny kid, too ignorant to realise his own failings. It was a good thing then, she thought to herself, that they had managed to convince the others to support Lord Ydna as he organised a force to fight back at the skaa. For now though, it seemed she would have to go along with whatever brillant scheme that the Lord Wair had come up with. "We will invest our wealth in...games!" Lord Wair grinned at her, as if he had single-handedly saved the Final Empire. Lord Ruler preserve us from idiots. Action 3: What: Investing Wealth into the design and production of a board game (Chess or such-like) worthy of the Great Houses. Presumably it will involve the slaughter of pawns. Ideally it glorifies the Steel Ministry and the Lord Ruler. Why: To sell and also to increase reputation with the Steel Ministry (assuming it earns their approval).

"The skaa are revolting, both literally and metaphorically." said Lady Minal, hastily appointed Attendant of Trade for House Wair. Beside her, the new Attendant of War Lord Ydna sighed to himself. They had been kept waiting for weeks to see the House Lord and he was not in the mood for wordplay. In front of them sat the new House Lord Irim Wair, having replaced his father who had proved increasingly indecisive in the latter years of his rule to the point of inactivity. It had ultimately proved detrimental to House Wair, having allowed the skaa to successfully revolt. "Our farms are holding, the extra guards your father posted have managed to rebuff several attacks so far. That said, without reinforcements I don't expect them to last the year. Something has to be done, Lord Wair," said Ydna, wearily. There was a long silence, eventually broken by a weak voice. "How much money do we have?" said Lord Wair. As one, Ydna and Minal sighed. It seemed they had gotten one of those House Lords.

Den Wair looked at the thin, withered shapes of the Skaa as they toiled on the farms. It had been a good idea to come out here, to see for himself the effect of his father's last decree. Beside him, Olum seemed nervous. The man was in charge of the farm, and having the new House Lord appear unexpectantly for a visit had him on edge. He kept nervously wringing his hands, as if to check he still had them. We need more guards, thought Den, that way not only can we work the Skaa harder, they'll also be less likely to cause unwanted trouble. Action 1: Den Wair as House Lord Committing forces to protect the outlying farms owned by House Wair, as well as preventing Skaa rebellions.

"It would seem that Lord Vinid has no defense to offer for himself at this time. I suggest that we move this case faster, anyone who has anything to say should just say it. Clean and simple. At the end of this we can each analyse all statements and cast our vote."

The courtroom went silent, as Lord Farrsolin made his accusations. A few of the lesser nobles looked uneasy, worried even. If the accusations that Lord Erikell and Lord Vinid were true, that would mean this entire trial was little more than a farce. Shen waited a few moments, then decided to break the silence. It wouldn't do for House Wair to not at least make a comment. "Lord Farrsolin, you have clearly admitted your guilt and I have no doubt your House will be justly punished for their crimes. However, the points you raised are indeed worrying." He spoke clearly and slowly, so no-one could misunderstand his words. "This...trial...was called by Lord Vinid and Lord Erikell, but if what Lord Farrsolin says is true than not only have they been conspiring against the nobility, but are making a mockery of the Lord Ruler's own rule by abusing the court of law. This trial cannot proceed until both Lord Vinid and Lord Erikell prove without doubt that they have not been acting against any of us." With that said, Lord Wair sat back down beside his wife. Silence. Lord Ruler preserve us.

Shen was bored. Little had been happening in Luthadel, it seemed that the nobles had all retreated to safety and refrained from making any overt declarations these days. If things carried on like this, he might just be tempted enough to cause some mischief. There was a quiet cough from behind him, and so the Lord turned his head. "Yes, Morri?" he said, lazily. "My Lord Wair, I have the latest reports from our plantations. One of the nobles there has suffered a few small bandit attacks and wants us to help. Shen sighed, it seemed that today was just another day. Action 1: Who: Shen Wair as House Lord What: Establishing a small outpost in the Western Dominance near my farms to provide security. Why: Improve my standing amongst House Wair.

Shen read the latest financial reports, frowning. They had managed to buy some small mines, but the ore it provided probably wasn't enough to boost the Wair coffers. He leaned back on his chair and sighed. If only my father's last grand design had worked. House Wair had adopted, for the most part, an isolationist strategy since his grandfather's passing. While this had meant they had no obvious enemies, they also had no obvious allies. Time to change that. Action 1: Who: House Wair What: Sending servants to all Noble Houses to offer support. Why: To earn respect from the nobility. EDIT: Basically,to get more prestige. That's all I'm doing.

The sun slowly set in the horizon, light ash calmly drifting from the sky and faint mist in the distance. Koem sat in his office, his son Shen quietly asleep beside him. He felt weary, having spent much of his energy; perhaps too much. The last few weeks had drained him, and he doubted he could ever fully recover from the stress of dealing with the powers of Luthadel. But I can't die yet. My father made our messengers deliver the word of the Lord Ruler across the Empire. I must accomplish something as well, for my son. Not that there was much left to do, it all relied now upon his servants and more importantly, the Lord Ruler himself. He needed to distract himself with something less...vital. Koem took a piece of paper, and began writing, as the sun disappeared and the city lit up in silent splendor. Like a candle alone in the dark. Action 3: Who: House Wair What: Hosting a small ball for all of the nobility, no matter what House, inside Keep Wair. Why: To entertain and offer a moment of respite for the nobles.

"My Lord, House Urbain was attacked. It also appears that Uethorn is asking to consider adequate punishments towards House Erikell and Vinid," said the Wair steward, Nicho. Meanwhile, his young Lord continued shuffling amongst the pile of paperwork that covered much of the Primary Record Room. A few moments passed, until a muted cry of excitement came from underneath and the noble stood up, sheets of paper falling like ash off him. Koem Wair beamed happily at his steward. "Found it at least! I knew my father had hidden some architectural designs here." "My Lord, whilst it gives me great pleasure to hear this, I must ask what our official stance on Urbain and Uethorn are," said Nicho, frowning slightly. It had seemed that his lord had gradually gotten more excitable the last few days, stress no doubt from his high position. "Hmm? Oh, those things. What Urbain gets up to has little to do with us, and as for Erikell and Vinid I'm not terribly convinced yet. I'd rather not get House Wair too involved, tell them we're abstaining from any formal judgements." "Is that everything then, Lord Wair?" "Oh no," grinned Koem,"Get some servants down here to clean up the Record Rooms. And then get my carriage ready. And my best clothes. And bring Lord Malan as well, the man could use some fresh air. Then meet me at the gate." "Sir?" said Nicho, uneasily. Koem merely gave another mad grin, tucking the sheet of paper under his coat. "We have a meeting to keep."

Koem looked up from the opened invitation, bewilderment apparent. Outside the window ash slowly drifted from the sky, lending darkness to the bright lights that lit up the Great Houses of Luthadel in the distance. "The Royal Allomantic Games? What nonsense is House Uethorn up to now?" he sighed. House Wair had been relatively fortunate, having managed to stay out of the affairs of other Nobles, more through luck than any great plan. You can't ignore this. Rumours already say the Lord Ruler will be there. Koem waved at his newly appointed steward Nicho. "Inform two of our Mistborn, let's see...Lady Arin and Lady Mela. Tell them both that they are to participate in this Royal Allomantic Games and to prepare themselves accordingly." Nicho bowed stiffly, and made for the door. Just as he was about to leave he heard his masters voice shout from behind. "Also see if you can't hire some more people. We don't have enough of these anti-Mistborn troops yet." -In short,I'm sending two Mistborn to participate in the Royal Allomantic Games. "Why do we have so bread?" asked Koem Wair. His bodyguards said nothing, they'd recently been trained and hired to defend him against assassins. A wise decision, if the rumours of an assassination attempt on Lord Tekiel was true. Koem's quartermaster appeared uneasy. "Well sir,we bought some bakeries as you requested. The problem is that we haven't found anyone to sell them to yet.." Can't they do anything themselves? "Then find some people, I assume some of the Noble Houses are wanting for food. See if you can shift as much of this excess bread as possible." Who- Koem Wair as House Lord What- Selling bread to other Houses Why- To earn money When- First Action EDIT: Wyrm has informed that I don't need to use an action to sell goods to NPC Houses,so instead Koem Wair is trying for an Heir for my first Action instead.

Koem sat at what had once been his fathers desk, poring through the accounts. From what he saw the last thing Sen Wair had done before he'd gone quite senile had been to seize control of some outlying farmland. As such the House had a fair amount of grain coming in, but nothing to do with it. He took a coin in his hand, and Pushed. The coin flew across the room and struck the metal bell, causing it to ring loudly. As the sound echoed, a servant entered the room. "Yes, my Lord?" asked the servant, no doubt one of his father's many messengers who seemed to litter the place like skaa on a field. "Have someone buy a bakery, it's time we cleared out the storehouses a bit and made some real money. My father may have been content with currying the favour of the Lord Ruler and ignoring the other Houses, but it is time we did something." Who: Koem Wair as House lord What: Buying bakeries in Luthadel. Why: In order to turn the grain from farms into food (i.e Goods) When: Action 1

Sen was feeling old, he felt he understood little of the current atmosphere of celebrations and balls. The sheer idea of hosting parties clashed with his concern for the well-being of the Empire. Yes, I should retire and find somewhere quiet to write my memoirs. I just need to ensure the House is strong enough to endure. He waved over a servant, and told her to gather his messengers. He needed more information. Who-Sen as House Lord What- Sending his servants out to collect rumours and general misc. information. Why- To gain an overview of the state of the Houses. It was amazing how different the city was now that the Houses had been spurred into action. The Nobles had begun hosting balls to show off, goods flowed in from the outside world and his own messengers scurried around carrying the Lord Ruler's messages. But Sen still felt uneasy, his house was too open. He had Rashek's favour, but that might not be enough to hold off the over-ambitious Mistborn. He beckoned his servant over by the corner. "Tell my wife Lark to fetch some messengers and recruit some trained soldiers to join our House. It is time we strengthened our position." The servant bowed and made for the door. "Oh, would you also find Koem and bring him to me? I wish to have him beside me." Who- Sen as Lord of House Wair When- First Action What- Recruiting soldiers to join the House Why- To strengthen the strength of the House.

Sen of House Wair Sen looked from his balcony at the streets below him. He saw messengers delivering messages between all the nobles. He saw one of his servants busy wiping away the graffiti left by Gamic Urbain. He even spied one of Farrsolin's people, looking anxiously over his shoulder as he strode across the street. I wonder why Farrsolin was surprised. Nothing can be kept a secret in this city, not anymore. As for the matter of the ball, Sen had decided he may as well attend both Elariel's and Urbain's; his wife Lark did so love a good dance after all. There was a small creak at the other side of the room, and Sen turned to see his old friend Olir dressed in bright purple finery. "The carriage is ready as requested and your guards have been dressed in the most conspicuous armour we could find in the Keep." Sen nodded, and together they left the office. The other Houses appear to have forgotten by whose strings they must dance to. The carriage rolled along, taking an overly long and obvious journey along much of the upper streets of Luthadel. He wanted people to notice him, it was imperative to remind his fellows that none of them were immune to consequences. Not even those so-called Great Houses. At last, they arrived at their destination. Sen ordered his retinue to stay behind in the carriage and he stepped forth alone onto the mist-covered pavement. Ahead of him, he saw tall proud spires that stretched until they seemed to pierce the skies. He saw lights flicker in distant windows and an ominous feeling that seemed to pervade the very ground he stood on. Lord Wair stood before the gate to Kredik Shaw and looked at the guards. "Tell the Lord Ruler that his servant Sen is here, and wishes to speak with him." Who-Sen Wair as House Lord When- Second Action What- To deliver a petition to the Lord Ruler Where- Kredik Shaw Why- To be discussed in private.

I've found myself having to do a bit of back-tracking to work out which Lord is which ( their past and attitudes based on RP). Perhaps it would be useful to make a short google doc that has a basic summary of each Lord's publicly stated past and basic characteristics? This could also be a good source for anyone just casually following the game.

Sen of House Wair Sen stood on the balcony, staring at the spires of Kredik Shaw. It had been several long years since the Ascension, since the Lord Ruler had saved the world. A lifetime ago. He saw workers building some sort of monument in the distance, messengers flitting around the streets and a few of his guards loitering at the Keep entrance. No doubt the other Houses are currying favour with the Mistborn. Sen did not care much, he knew his wife Lark was a great admirer of Allomancy as it was called. But it would not be Allomancy that would keep the Final Empire strong, but faith in the Lord Ruler and wealth. He knew the people had little true faith, but perhaps their loyalty could be bought. They doubted the truth of the Lord Ruler's power, many of the old Kingdoms had yet to fully submit. He was the Sliver of Infinity, we can but trust he knows the path to salvation. Sen sent for a messenger, the other Houses had yet to corner the market for these precious metals needed for Allomancy. Perhaps now was the chance. Who?-Sen as House Lord is performing an Action What?-Contacting traders and offering contracts in transporting Iron and Tin from mines to Luthadel and other regions. Where?- Luthadel When?-First Action Why?- Hoping to gain a monopoly on trade of Iron and Tin to increase the wealth of the House.

"Will you follow me?" Sen watched as one by one his fellow travellers bent their knee before Rashek. It was an odd sight, for not long before they would have joked and laughed with him, seen him as another Terrisman and not the god he now appeared to be. From child to adult, Sen had always sought to learn as much as he could, from the tales of the Worldbringers to the strange philosophy of the Larsta monks. Yet nothing had ever appealed to him, there was nothing tangible about them. And now Rashek was a god, not one that hid behind ancient tales and myths; but one who was right here and now. And he needed followers. Sen Wair stepped forward and bowed before him. If there was a god who could save Scadrial, it would be this one. Sen of House Wair
