I'll continue to defend Stephen! Stephen Leeds is a highly intelligent individual, but his mind cannot function at such a high level. In order to make up for this, his brain created Aspects, which are compartments of his brain represented by several hallucinations. Each hallucination is an expert on various subjects. I forget how many there are, but I think I remember there being several dozen. Each of these aspects has some kind of mental disorder, and many think that if Stephen didn't see these aspects, he himself would have those disorders. He can do incredible things with the aspects, such as unconsciously reading a book and creating an aspect with all the knowledge of what happened in the book. So I'd actually go on a limb and say he IS more quirky than L. And well, no one is as Wayne as Wayne. Each of the remaining characters are great in their own right, but the story and psychology of Stephen are vastly more interesting than any of these characters, at least in my opinion. I really wish more people would read Legion, I truly think it's one of Brandon's best works.
