  1. <kind of ninja'd by Kipper> I think with the HI, that we shouldn't assume that he'll be evil. He'll probably turn evil near the end of the game, but as for now he's one of our biggest assets. He's the only person right now guaranteed to be good, (unless there are no hemalurgists altogether, but would wyrm really do that?) I think the Hemalurgists should contact the HI, then the HI can talk to some Kandra or use his abiliy himself, to make sure that they are both a) Hemalurgists and b)Loyal. And construct a trusted list from that. With regard to Araris's old role, yeah it's sad that we lost a Voidbringer, but at least he wasn't a Kandra or an Elantrian that got killed. I hate to bring this up but I think we do need to discuss D1 lynches, I think that we should have one for the discussion, but we have already had plenty of discussion about the HI, I think we should have one to turn the conversation to more than just the HI and what to do about it.
  2. Hey guys, sorry, school has been ramping up and I haven't had a ton of time, but I have a little now. Congratulations to that coinshot, solid work I think that the 'newer' player feud is just that and might have substance but I can't call it an entirely rational argument. I don't know what Orlock did, I haven't seen a whole lot from him. I think there'd be a balance of Skaa players in experience, due to the high density of newer to medium players I'd say there is maybe one or two experienced people in that group. Most of the experienced people have been dying, which means that it's either fear kills or an experienced person picking off people that know them well. I'm not sure enough to place a vote, but I am keeping an eye on Alv and Wyrm. I think one of them is probably skaa, but we'll see. You guys are strange, but I love cats, I have two of them, I am not going to throw my role out there, because if the eliminators keep tally, which (in my experience) they do. They'll look at it. And those that didn't throw out there role are likely to be the lurchers/ coinshots, wanting to protect themselves. I'm not saying that I have that role, I'm just saying that I want to protect those that do.
  3. I had a bunch of fun with this game, i would like to point out that Joe was basically #ProGM, I don't think he slipped up once, and everything appeared to work pretty well. I didn't post a bunch, but I didn't really need to, I'm glad I was able to help out and I'm glad that despite all Mailiw's shenanigans, the Village won (barely). I look forward to playing with the rest of you guys in LG15.
  4. Hey guys, I've been keeping up with the thread. I'll try to post regularly twice a day, so expect another post this afternoon. And I think the Meandbooks is a little suspicious, but we'll need some more evidence/ discussion before embarking on a lynch. I'm suspicious of IruleSTINK right now because he said twice, in short posts how he didn't like the level of discussion going on, or what was being said. Yet he didn't do anything to change that. He just placed a vote on someone else to get discussion from them, why don't you start the discussion IruleSTINK. I've done this at places, so I'm not innocent in this regard. But it is suspicious to try to get people to talk without doing anything yourself. And I read into it as trying to look like your contributing when your not.
  5. Hey guys, sorry I haven't had the time to formulate a full post as of yet, but now I can. Historically D1 Lynches have been necessary for starting discussion. However in this particular instance we have enough discussion (I believe) to warrant not having a lynch. I personally don't care (as long as it's not me ) But if you guys don't want to lynch we don't have to. It's good to see people running numbers and doing some good analysis like Advantos. I think the most important thing in this game is preserving valuable charges, like Steel or Iron. We don't want to waste them, but the problem is is that if we never use them, then they are worthless, as someone pointed out. I would like to point out that the discussion on Joe's secret plan, is now basically worthless because the plan doesn't work.
  6. That was the impression I was under. I think it would be easiest to create another thread meant for posts that contain all the information for a region. Like in the Recknoers RPG they have an, 'Epics of Oregon' thread where all the contributors have a full list of their characters and information on them, discussion doesn't happen there. It's meant as a reference only. For instance I linked a google docs folder where I'm keeping all of my information on my section. That way I can make changes, and people can see what I've done all in one place and see my new changes. I don't know if the biology thread would be used for discussing, or as for reference, but we definitely need something for both of those purposes.
  7. I agree with your ideas Kobold, I thought that this was the way it always was, any other 'color coded' system is news to me. I think in this world of varying regions and biologies, we need simplicity to enable that, having one 'plane' of power makes logical sense and aides the idea of simplicity. Multi colored hotspots also enable vary creatures to live in one ecosystem, using different colors of lumuoles to accomplish their goals, yet having them exist in the same place. It makes everything easier people. Kobold's plan has my vote.
  8. I am going to post here to contain all of my information about my parcel of land, Section 13. I am linking google documents so that I can continue edits to make things cohesive. I always welcome constructive criticism, Just shoot me a PM so we don't clog up the threads. This is a folder containing the documents, I have one regarding the race generally. One with specific Flora and Fauna. A name list that will be expanded and assigned. Everything here is a work in progress and will be expanded. The Arakeans
  9. I really hope this project doesn't die, I have some ideas that I've developed a lot, I just need to set some deadlines to post a lot of real content. I'll make a long post detailing my stuff on Friday probably, Saturday definitely. Thanks for the Maps Sir Jerric, they look great.
  10. I noticed something, do Lumuoles get used up when doing magic, or do they have an infinite well of power, or can you put them on a long- slow burn? How does one get a lumuole anyway? my Ideas- There could be a limited power level of all the lumuoles of a certain kind. For instance there could be only 1000 red lumuoles and once one is used up. The total power level stays the same because a white lumuole changes into a red one. I think White Lumuoles should be like the 'Stem' cells of lumuoles. They change to keep up the relative limit.Where they would spawn, I don't know, or if the lumuoles incorporated into creatures biologies would burn out. I don't know.
  11. @Mailiw, My society is currently more of a hunter- gatherer type. As Rainforests have poor soil, and isn't great for cultivation of crops. But, depending on the period of time I want to use, I could have them growing in the low parts of the mountains. But this depends on how much time the Arakeans,(my race) have been there and how advanced the rest of the world is. Which brings me to my next point, @Everybody working on Diaemus, I'm struggling with how advanced to make my culture, how long have these sentient races existed since learning to first herd animals and grow crops? In relation to Earth what year would Diaemus be in? It makes little sense for one region to be hunter gatherer type, while another is steel working. I understand how having a future and a past is important to worldbuilding, but I think we need a Diameus 'home' time. Just to base everything else off of. It would just help my worldbuilding process, to have a 'home' time like that. Thanks. I would appreciate your thoughts on this subject.
  12. That was a really fun game, sart and I had so much momentum. And then you eliminators got super lucky and basically won the game right there. I think there were a lot of in actives that hindered the game, but Congratulations you guys, no one was on to you guys and that's something to be proud of.
  13. Could I claim the small bit of mountains and some of the surrounding jungle in the upper northern part of the main continent. I'm working on a race, humanoid in nature. Maybe nocturnal, called the Arakeans. They will have little affinity for lumuoles, but their physical adaptations will make up for this lack of ability.
  14. @Sir Jerric, If it's not too much trouble that would be great. Thanks! Are there going to be humanoid, non-human races on Diaemus? I have some ideas for those, but I'm not sure if they would fit the world. I really like what is going on, maybe we should start to nail down all the characteristics of our several main races, before giving them a territory to rule over. I'm under the impression that the three main races thus far are the Arachnids (cool name forth coming), The humans, and the raptors. Arachnids- -I'm thinking subterranean or at least in dark, more tropical environments. - Possibly subsets with venomous pincers ( maybe a venom laced with Lumoles with an abrasive influence) - I don't believe they would develop the idea of clothes, though it is possible that decorative sashes or something similar could show rank or caste - I believe that they would value things from the surface or things from the unknown, maybe sea shells. Because they live underground and minerals probably don't mean much to them. Just some of my thoughts on this race concept.
  15. Sorry, I'm trying to figure out all the map's regions climates. I'm trying to use the Koppler "letter" system to figure it out, but some of the regions placed next to each other wouldn't work, as well as the colors being visually confusing. The Red region one, would guess to be a desert but according to the system found on wikipedia, it's really a more temperate subtropical region. I'm just really confused about the map, and wonder if the colors could be fixed for a more intuitive fit, or for an explanation to be given.
  16. I have a little argument against the whole "dinosaur theme" I think that if there are raptors like the ones in Jurrassic Park and they can use magic and tools, it would be very unlikely that any humans would survive, they would get overrun. Note that. in our own world the rise of mammals could only occur after all the dinosaurs had been wiped out. Also, having these powerful species can cage our creativity because if we want to make a weak, yet very interesting race ... oh wait they just got wiped out by magic dinos. I'm just making an argument for logic and creativity. My recommendations- The "dinosaurs" capable of mammal annihilation, i.e. Raptors, should be highly territorial and somewhat restricted to certain climates and biomes. The dinosaurs could be limited in number depending on the size of their base ecosystem, an ecosystem can only support a few number of apex predators, and the ecosystems should be held to that. Just some of my thoughts, I like everything that is going on. Otters would be amazing, especially sapient large ones.
  17. Hey I would like to join this project as well. I think magic should be rare, yet as Twi said an important part of the world itself. I think deserts are always a good setting. I think making a map would help in the organization and then we should have sub threads maybe for the development of specific regions. I think we should all consider racial balancing, like super strong magic using, dragon riding giants aren't "fair" unless they are extremely rare or few in number. I'm just saying that they should be balanced enough that their isn't one race that is certainly "better" than the others
