  1. How do I upload images to here?

I have a picture I'd like to share. I have it saved to my Google Drive account in .jpg, .gif, and .png formats, and have the shared settings set to public, so anyone can view it.

When I try to share it on here though (using the 'Image' icon in the toolbar), I just get a message saying the boards don't support that format of image. Ummm, what?

  2. I , uh, actually didn't post the whole prologue.

    "I've witnessed the fearsome depths.

I was in Babilar, Babylon Restored. New York City. I stared into those depths, and knew--with no uncertainty--, that something inside me had changed."

That pretty much screams David to me, though I could see it being Prof. Not Megan though.

Connecting that entry to the Prof. is appropriate too, but I'll go with David here, fearsome depths means what? Water right? But oh, I wish that David didn't get to have a 'water power' (Regalia said that he'll get it). We've seen 2 powers with that affinity already. I hope to see a different one if our mc gets to have one. OR maybe he didn't get to be an epic, maybe that something inside him means that he overcomes his fear, therefor making him stronger.

  3.

Interesting question about the chalkling archer. I think it would depend on the chalking's intelligence. We know that Melody can command chalklings without using drawn commands. If it were a regular chalkling, drawn by a regular rithmatist, it probably wouldn't work. A Melody archer chalkling, though...

I always thought that Melody can command her chalklings because of it's 'uniqueness' and the details about them. Hum.

Any way, I'll go with badly drawn Zergling. Quantity over quality for the win! You can draw it under 1 second, so rushing the enemy is a must.

On the other hand, maybe i'll go with Snap.

  5. So I just finished the book and returned it to my friend. I have no other means to reread it again coz' I don't have it anymore. Anywaaay, did Obliteration die? And if so, how the hell did he die? He became a porcelain right? How? What is his weakness? WHAT? WHY? HOW? I'm totally confused right now. :(

  6. I just know that both are set in the same world, Sel.

Can anyone clarify (without spoilers of course) if Emperor's Soul can be read before Elantris?

Or if reading Elantris before Emperor's Soul would be much more enjoyable and gives a better experience? (may be due to the world-building or due to any subtle hints, if any?)

Yes, you can read Emperor's Soul before Elantris. Based on my experience, the two are stand alone. But I recommend reading Elantris first, because it comes 1st in the timeline.

  7. Feedback: (English is not my main language, so I'll try my best to 'criticize')
    1. Misuse of dots and commas, reading the 1st paragraph. Feels. Like. This.
    2. Need more details about the characters, or maybe less.
i.e. (woman w/ fair hair) <-- can at least be just the woman, the character just woke up! or a detailed (size, face, i dunno) if the character is attentive (if you want him to be attentive in nature?).
    3. Light elf brethren sounds a little cheesy. Just maybe 'leave us'. And it is a little random, I don't remember any light elf in Norse.
    4. Maybe merge the sentences if it is short, (3rd and 4th). Scruffy is dirty right? How is that regal? Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding something. Also, how does he know that Odin was missing an eye just because he wears an eyepatch?
    5. Here, the protagonist is named. Ragnarr. Name is good, maybe introducing Ragnarr at the beginning? 'Ragnarr opened his eyes, bright lights welcoming him. bla bla.'
    6. Scratch number 5. He doesn't know who he is. So maybe don't introduce his name until Odin says it? And how did he know that the man is Odin?
    7. He is missing an eye, tbh this is a good twist, I think. Maybe hint it on the 1st paragraph? Like, explaining how a person who just lost an eye, the first experience of waking?
    8. Goes to a lengthy explanation about the Norse mythology. I skipped half of this.

    Suggestions:
Use commas if the consecutive sentences will be short. That's it. A good intro but very short for me. Hope this help!

Sorry. I think there's already a similar series like that. I don't mean Kane Chronicles.
Riordan will release another 'god' series this year if that is what you're talking about.

  8. I was trying to address this point in my original posted response as well, but due to being rushed from lunch and typing on my phone, it wasn't done as well as it could have been.

Basically, now that Kaladin has spoken the Third Oath of the Windrunners, we have seen a small bit of a very, very distinct change in Syl.  While before she was insubstantial to the point that carrying a leaf a few miles was likely a heroic journey on par of difficulty with Sam carrying Frodo into Mordor, now she is different--much more in the Physical Realm.  And her physical form is capable of doing more than simply slicing through living matter in the manner of a Shardblade, because as a Hammer she crushed bones.  This implies, to me, that she is at least as solid and physical as a hammer is; but really, there's no reason why she can only take the shape and feel of something super-sharp or super-hard.  It would, in fact, seem bizarre to me if she was unable to mimic one of the more common bipedal people on Roshar (like, humans.)

Based on the book, Spren copied how the honorblades are made. So I think atleast they can only copy 'weapons'.
