Would a Tineye be able to smell, on the breath of a mistling, what metal they are burning, functioning as something of a close range Seeker?

I think it would be cool if a savant Coppercloud were able to block the vision and ability of Coinshots and Lurchers.

I'm just excitedly waiting for Sanderson to introduce a character with the ability.

I like that Sanderson changed things around a bit, and tied in the western theme with what readily available bits of metal Wax could employ as a Coinshot, rather than having him throw money around the place. It has been awhile since I read the book, but does anyone else think that a discarded bullet casing would roll along the ground when acted upon by a magnetic push from above, instead of acting a strong anchor?
And in that case might a coin, also, slid along the ground, if it where pushed from an angle other than directly above?2 -

well, the amount of power you get from a duraluminium burn depends on how big are your reserves. if you do a duraluminium steelpush and are running low, you won't jump the hundreds of meters that vin did after drinking a new vial, but probably just a few dozen. or if you do a duraluminium steelpuush and are running short on pewter, you won't get enough strenght to survive the backlash and you'll exxplode in a spectacular shower of blood (yeah, there are a lot of ways to do that with duraluminium).
Also, I can't help but notice that the amount of power you get with duraluinium is much lower than what you get by regular burning. vin could jump hundreds of meters with a vial worth of steel, but if she used that steel for normal jumps she could go several kilometers. there's probably some phenomenon akin to feruchemical compounding here.
Perhaps my thought would be better illustrated with Aluminium and Chromium. Would it make a difference whether you are burning a little or a lot, the effect would be the same, particularly in the case of Aluminium, you're immediately out of other metals. Or is it not instant, and it does make a difference if your have a lot of aluminium in your system and/or are flaring it?

Probably not. His metalminds were removed, then he was shot a couple dozen times at point blank range in front of a large crowd and then had his body disposed of somehow. I'm pretty sure he's very dead.

Oh, I just realized that the book Wax is reading in the first chapter of Shadows of Self on brandonsanderson.com is probably the book given to Marasi by Marsh. Hmm. It likely discusses Hemalurgy in some detail, judging from the bits we see. My guess is the second book will involve more Hemalurgical possibilities. Similar to how the original Mistborn trilogy examined the different magic systems in the different books, I'm guessing that AoL explained Twinborn and the second will delve into the advances in Hemalurgy by the writer of the book.
With regard to Miles: If I were a secret organization that was collecting Mistlings and potentially had agents everywhere, I might take measures to secure Miles a very powerful twinborn, with everyone thinking he is dead. I can think of two ways that his execution might have been faked.
The first is that those last bullets that were shot in his face to confirm his dead could be employed to have the reverse effect; shooting him in the face with some of his own metal minds. All one would need to do then would be to steal away the body before notices signs of life. Yes he has proven to be stubborn when taking orders, but there are many tools of persuation in convinsing a man who heals rapidly, to do what you want.
The second is: is there a visual difference between a Gold Feruchemist healing quickly and a Kandra moving around his meat? There is a rumour floating around that one of the characters was swapped with a Kandra during the course of the book.
And the book Marsh gave Marasi: I think Brandon had cleverly incorporated as a part of the book as the index after the last chapter. Note that it is written in the first person, especially the section dealing with Hemalurgy.

To the King of Nowhere.
I don't think that you would have an immediate infinite amount, it would probably be a proportionate amount of return compared with how much was in the metal mind you are burning. Though it would probably be compounding at a higher rate of return. Also I think it would still be possible to catch that windfall in a metal mind, if one has the knack for it.
Back to the topic in general, if Duralumin and the other auxiliary metal were all used up at the time of their burning, and each to their intended effect, wouldn't that mean that the amount that was burnt would be irrelevant, as the returns for a small amount would be the same as a large amount. That kind seems like it defeat the purpose of Allomancy requiring fuel.

My pardon, M'queen and David. I've been rather busy. I was supposed to introduce you two, but it seems that David took it upon himself, and did a rather fine job. Always nice to have a new face in the factions, especially after our round of traitors a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you my Baron, for your generous invitation, I am glad my excessive eagerness had not caused offence.
Derpy spent too much time on this forum without getting caught up on her reading list.

So what is a Chromium Compounder, anyway?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles, please forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, but I do believe that a Compounder is one that would have access to both the Allomantic and Feruchemical abilities of the one metal, with the Feruchemical trait being of a near limitless supply. In the case of Chromium that is the Allomantic ability to drain the metal(s) of another mistling, and the Feruchemical ability to store luck, with the luck being made a boundless store with the combination.
In regards to the event described in your tale, considering all things, I believe that it is divine providence that cause such happenings to be of such great fortune to you.

Why dear sir, do not be discouraged. I had not been referring to yourself as a gargoyle; I had assumed that a building of this age and architecture would have anthropomorphic gargoyles. But if I am a poet then it is just as likely that you would be a gargoyle.
In either case please forgive a foreigner of his eccentricities.

* Enveloped within a curtain of silence, the hall echoes; each footstep, and rustle of cloth screams with the volume of a cannon. *
"I see that I have chosen the hour of my arrival poorly. I shall cease this conversation with my shadow, and leave my card, before the gargoyles think me mad."

The forum signs me out automatically. This isn't a major issue, but just gets annoying having to sign back in again, all the time.

And the winner is Chrono!!
Gonna go with Alendi, the First Hero of Ages. Sounds like him.

Does anyone think that Miles will make a reappearance in the sequel?
His own abilities would be the mechanism, so it wouldn't that much of a deus ex machina.

No the worst cast would be if Steven Seagal played everyone, and the only mark to distinguish one character from the next would that for each of them he would try to do a different accent.

When you suspect that they put soft drink into aluminium cans, so that Lurchers had to get up and go to the fridge like everyone else.

Yeah sorry guys, I think I went a bit overboard, and I didn't realize that Friday isn't a thing in the book(s) that I'm meaning.
+ the style I wrote it in is misleadingIt is not Joel from the Rithmatist, and neither is it Stephen Leeds nor Alcatraz from Legion.
No, you have to wait, but Shaggai waived his/her turn (what gender are you!? Your profile pictures aren't exactly helping).
Also, this has to be a Sanderson book.
It is a Sanderson book, and do we really need to have gender pronouns on the internet?

Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show. To begin my journey with the beginning of my journey, I record that I awoke on a Friday, at twelve o'clock at night, with a thumping great headache.
- Can I jump in like that, or is it someone else's turn? -0 -
When you look at a periodic table and google metallurgy as background information for your Allomancy theory.
* Note: most of the alloys have forms that contain copper. Not just Brass and Bronze but also Pewter and Electrum *3 -
Off the top of my head:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagon
FLCL
Baccano!
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Trigun
Cowboy Bebob
Samurai Champloo
Dragon Ball Z (Kai)
Zoids
Gundam 00 and Seed
Sword Art Online (the first half)
Attack on Titan
Angel Beast
Fruits Basket
Naruto
Pokemon
Digimon
Yu Gi Oh!
Last Exile
Code Geass
Death Note
Ghost in the Shell
It's weird, I find it hard to think of shows like Pokemon, Digimon and Yu Gi Oh as being anime, since I watched them before I knew what anime was. They have always just been normal.
