  1. I'm now imagining this.

The Lord Ruler will speed up, walk out of the army meant to distract him, go make and eat dinner, come back to sit in his swivel chair, slow down and spin for a while reading. At this point army blown away by sonic boom.

Then TLR gets up after remembering the fight, getting back up to speed, casually run at the speed of sound over to Vasher who had just realized he disappeared and is awakening things in case of counterattack. TLR grabs Nightblood by the grip, flips it around, taps pewtermind and burns pewter, punches it into Vasher's chest at ultrasonic speeds, decelerate and watch everything blown away by the sonic boom again.

Bonus points for "What, you didn't see that coming?"

Honestly with just speed alone he can do so much when he can just tap for ages nonstop. He doesn't even need to go beyond that to kill most people in these vs polls. He can literally just walk off to grab a chunk of steel to eat and compound if he gets low and come back. Throwing strength into it too with that much momentum is overkill.

Even though there is a limit to compounding steel before you start to take damage, he could just compound gold, so his speed is basically limitless.

  2. Most definitely. An Epic like him is an even larger threat than Obliteration. Vondra tries to keep tabs on the most dangerous Epics in his area, and he'd definitely know about it if Iconoclast had singlehandedly taken down Corvallis.

In other news, Brandon just now answered Mailliw's question about unique Epic powers!

Is it just me, or does this halfway confirm that Epics like Big Al exist with unique but useless powers?

What powers does Big Al have?

  3. So once this part with Converter plays out, what would be a good way to introduce Heatsink? I was thinking to help with converter, but after, since he wasn't mentioned in those going to restrain her.

  4.

well, if the offensive part messes with your original conception of the character, you could always say that he cannot use his power on organic things and stuff in their immediate proximing (so no freezing clothes)? Many powers have that caveat. That way, he can't just freeze people to death as an insta-kill, he has to be a bit more creative.

    Your call :)

Well I need some way of him to fight, preferably with defensive(ish) powers because that is cooler.

  5. oh yeah, he can just freeze people straight out. In fact, he is probably more offensive than defensive- he is only defensive against heat-based attacks, like fire Epics. But he can be offensive against anyone.

When I first thought of that power set, it took someone pointing that out for me to realize that it could be used offensively.
