The shear amount of "Favorite" threads popping up is making me want to start one on favorite color. Maybe favorite shampoo to. I'm partial to Abercrombie's titles. They are nice and simple yet the role just right off the tongue.

Just set it to dvr. I ll try it. I haven't finished a season since the glorious S3. I hated 4, liked 5 but my dvr crapped out towards the end and just never finished it on Netflix, I loathed 6. Watched 2 episodes and deleted the entire rest of season.

This is good show. It loses its way around S5 I thought but it came back in S6&7. anyone watch Narcos? S3 is now up!

Ah I thought so but yeah it isn't uncommon for people to hate Gardens. I think a large part of this is because it was a screenplay originally and expanded on to publish as a book. It can be very hard to follow. Bk 2 is an epic increase in quality. It is a very complex series and imo requires a higher reading experience before one should jump into. It is a very rewarding series though so I hope one day you ll try again.

I think it was originally 3.

This is very common. I take it that just name dropping bk 1 it was a far as you got into it?

Now for my serious answer. Every fantasy fan should read WoT once. I've done it 3(at least on RJ) over the years. I wouldn't personally classify it as High Fantasy. It's much more old school defeat the dark lord LOTR type imo. if you want a true High Fantasy check out Malazan series only if your experience is high cause it is extremely complex! a great Grimdark set is Abercrombies main 6 book series starting with The Blade Itself. Jim Butchers Codex Alera is truly fun and High Fantasy. It's basically Pokémon in a Roman setting. Sounds nuts but it is entertaining.

Nah.

Put WoK down. To big a commitment and my memory is still good of 1&2 anyway.

Finished Tigana yesterday. That book was so stellar imo. I'm glad I decided to read that as my 1st GGK due to its controversy. If I liked it that much I ought to love his other books. picked up WoK but I think I'm going to set it back down or just skim 1&2. I doubt I can tackle those 2K pgs in the 72 days before OB hits. Plus I'm now free to continue Malazan reread without other books hindering my time. i did also dig out Dresden 1. sigh

What are you playing right now?

Finished Prompto today. I enjoyed it a lot more then Gladiolus. Bit of open worldness in this one. Adds so much more depth to Promptos character vs Gladiolus. update hit 15 yesterday and it confounds me.. did Ubisoft sign a deal with Square Enix? The Assassins Festival is now in Lestualum and Creed has morphed with Final Fantasy. Craziness! Also you can now do chapter selection to replay at any point which makes me very happy! World in Ruins here I come! -

It should be noted that if you chose to look at it so all the weapons in FF15 are Shardblades. You d have to play it or look up combat on YouTube but it's definitely similar! -

Thanks. It's been mighty stressful down here but it's finally on the way out. ofcourse Tennessee and Kentucky will have to deal with the remnant in the next few days. -
Lies is one of the best debut novels I have read. It's amazing. i have finally finished my year and change long trip of Safehold today. Big sigh of relief for me. I am now going to try and focus on Tigana for most of my day reading time(200 pgs left) and do Malazan 5 at night. i will read anything else that is set in Safehold but the odds of me ever reading anything else of Weber is extremely slim! He just needs an editor that will tell him to cut the bloating info dumps... he can certainly tell a fun story and boy can he write navy/army engagements but my goodness there are so so SO many needless 20+ pg long sections of boring drones it can be a challenge to finish the series for sure.

Rust dude you read fast. I'm still on bk 5 in the 100's. I'm really focusing on finishing Safehold 9 with Harvey though. Time to finish that series, it's taken well over a year of my time. Almost done... whats next? SLA reread?
