  1. So, roughly 16 seasons per year. I'm no rocket scientist, but could that be an indication of a binary- planet sort of arrangement?
  2. This theory has several prongs: 1. Each city is linked to a specific Herald. I have no evidence to support this, it just seems reasonable. 2. Each Herald holds the "key" to the Oathgate in their respective city. Again, no evidence (this will be a recurring theme). 3. Those keys are Honorblades. 4. One of the Heralds broke their oathbreaking agreement, went back, and gathered up the blades. (I'm assuming Jazrien for no particular reason) 5. They then locked all the Oathgates (excepting Taln's, Stormseat), possibly to try to hide the Heralds complicity in breaking the oaths. 6. They then destroyed Stormseat to avoid any KR from investigating possible differences between betrayed, unusable Oathgates and that of Taln, whose gate stopped working when his blade left the physical plane. Some indirect support from the Listeners' knowledge that THEY did not shatter the Shattered Plains. 7. They then formed a Cult to keep the Honorblades secret, thus insuring that the real reason for the gates failing went unknown. 8. Profit?
  3. No doubt. I've no geology background and no knowledge of what sort of rock the continent is formed of, but even on a condensed schedule of thousands of years, a weekly tsunami/storm surge is bound to cause massive erosion. I'm almost completely convinced that the whole landmass is lighter than water but somehow anchored in place, thus explaining the northern islands- they were blown off of the northeastern shore and arced back along the northern edge, becoming barrier islands.
  4. It sure looks a lot like this to me. Mountains at the overlaps, north and south sides (Edit: also the east side) eroded due to high storms, and the Aimian Sea sunken due to the added weight of Shinovar. I'm assuming that Shinovar is at a higher elevation and was not part of the original world-building. Whether Shinovar is the seat (do Shards need a physical home?) of Cultivation and The Unclaimed Hills the former (now unclaimed) seat of Honor I'll leave to you to judge, but that is surely fodder for a different discussion.
  5. I think I accidentally gave Odical a down vote. Somebody please correct that with a up vote. Then everybody else give an up vote. I really like that post.
  6. I know the Weeping comes every year, but is there any indication of a polar tilt or elliptical orbit? I haven't seen any, and (Shardworld and creative license aside) it seems odd to me.
  7. Looking back through this thread, Peter had to be referring to Shaggai's Dragon curve post. More specifically, a twindragon fractal with the eastern shore weathered away and Shinovar (the Alien landmass) dropped in the middle of the Misted Mountains.
  8. Does this mean that he can identify people with nahel bonds by sight?
  9. This would explain Purelake draining. Perhaps Honor was a Greatshell of immense proportions, originated at the Origin, and has moved/eroded since due to death and winds/rotation of the planet. I know it's dumb and crazy, but I'm just throwing stuff at the wall here.
  10. Mr. T's blind following of his own intelligence enables him to become Odium's champion, his compassion will allow him to fall on his sword at the penultimate moment. That is his boon. His curse is that nobody will ever know the second bit.
  11. If Odium has a human champion, it must be Mr. T, with his capacity to save humanity (by losing) and all.
