  1. Does that mean that Windrunners would start using the adhesion surge before gravity? Considering they are the masters of the sky/wind you would think otherwise. The first surge I remember Kaladin unknowingly use was a reverse lashing on arrows while running the bridge, which is gravity. The only reason I say this is because if you look at the chart, if else callers used transformation first, light weavers would have to use illumination first. If you follow the pattern Sky Breakers would learn gravity first not windrunners.

P.S I am at work sorry and had to type really fast lol. If this doesn't make sense I can clear it up later

  2. That was "that's impossible" in the Luke Skywalker sense of "I refuse to believe this is true, because it has implications with which I am not comfortable," not "I literally do not believe this is possible based on my understanding of physics."

"If this person is a Knight Radiant, then the thing I was punished for saying is true, and I should never have been made Truthless, and all these horrible things I've been doing for the last six-plus years were not my deserved punishment for heresy, but just horrible things I did. I do not wish that to be the case, so: 'That's impossible!'"

Haha yeah, I reread that chapter last night. I see what you mean :)

  3.

if Nightblood counts as a Splinter it should grant powers like a Spren albeit diff powers since it wld be a splinter of Endowment not a splinter of Honor/Cultivation .

Splinters of Honor/Cultivation grant Surgebinding powers. On the other hand  Splinters of Endowment like Divine Breath grant Returned Powers.

So that means that the wielder of a Stormlight powered Nightblood cld have the powers of the Returned.Fitting for Szeth who has now returned from the dead.

    Sounds solid to me

  4. Maybe the visions that truth watchers get are a secondary kind of gift they receive - similar to how Shallan gets her eidetic memory from her order, which she can use with out being invested so maybe Renarin is using the foresight before realising how stormlight works.

  5. Not noticing that you're glowing when you just accidentally murdered a highprince doesn't seem like a stretch, to me.

Considering Kaladin is not only unknowingly using Stormlight for it's indirect uses such as healing, strength and stamina; Kaladin uses enough to lash arrows to the bridge by his head instead of taking them in the face.

I wouldn't say using enough just to increase your strength for a moment and not notice it is a stretch at all.

However, it could have been adrenaline? I doubt he was invested at all. It is a possibility though that he "snapped" enough to start attracting some spren's attention.

  6. I always say it's better to ask questions than to live in ignorance forever.

I thought it was definately Dalinar all along, but Renarin writing on the wall pretty much seals the deal in my mind that it was him. Who else would have access to the Kholinar's living quarters?

  7. Haha good theory, I believe that all the writings that were tampered with or changed had to do with the church altering everything to do with the Knights Radiant. However, I think Odium has much more control than Ruin ever did having to fight with Preservence; so it is a possibility.

P.s Atium is the metallic form of Ruin :)(which is why he's trying to find it so badly)

  8. Good question! I don't know.

Apparently the black smoke that comes off of Nightblood is the Breaths it has consumed, but twisted. I don't know if he's using it for something or not, or if the black smoke Investiture is less than the amount that Nightblood takes in. Perhaps Nightblood radiates some Investiture, but stores more than it leaks? If so, the more use it is used, the more powerful it becomes.

Stormlight seems to dissipate when held, though, so I don't think Nightblood could hold Stormlight like it can Breath.

I get so excited thinking about the next book with Nightblood! Switching from Breaths to Stormlight for investure makes me think of all the possibilities, from granting surges or maybe even something new because obviously Szeth will have to be able to breath in stormlight again or NB will consume his soul.

Also an image I can't get out of my head is Szeth wielding NB in a highstorm unsheathed. Just a giant glowing conduit for NB to feast and wreak havoc on anyone or anything "evil" haha. Can't wait.

  9. Yes, I think that's how it works. I should have phrased "Breath is just one part of your innate Investiture (though we do have WoB that this might be wrong), so Nightblood actually consumes more than that when someone uses him" as "Breath is just one part of your innate Investiture (though we do have WoB that this might be wrong), so Nightblood actually consumes more than that when someone uses him until death".

Does all this consumption of investure increase Nightblood's strength/power? Do we know if "he's" absorbing it or just using it to be awesome and expending it somehow..?

  10. Then why haven't we heard that shardblades can't cut infused gemstones? The halfshard can't be more invested than the gemstone powering it.

Maybe because infused gem stones only have storm light in them, whereas half-shards probably have spren trapped inside of the gemstones, similar to how the heating fabrials have flamespren trapped in them. Maybe it adds some durability?

  11. Also, minor nitpick: Nightblood doesn't just consume Breath on Nalthis, it consumes the entire 'soul' of the person (or their spiritweb?), which seems to be made of Investiture. Breath is just one part of your innate Investiture (though we do have WoB that this might be wrong), so Nightblood actually consumes more than that when someone uses him. If Nightblood just consumed your Breath, Drabs would be able to use Nightblood without issue. They can't.

I thought it consumed breaths first and when all of your breath was exhausted it started consuming your soul. Only after all of the breaths were gone though.

  12. I don't think he became truthless because the KR were coming back. He freaked out when he saw Kaladin using stormlight and said that it was impossible. Suggesting that there should be no possibility of Knight Radiants existing. Unless I read that wrong. It was really fast and I'm waiting to do my second read through

  13. Again I find myself agreeing with Argent. My own little theory was just Nahel bond powered Shardplate which could kind of be used as a battery for surgebinding. I figured, spren manifesting into shardplate in the physical realm for the plate and the blade would have been too simple and uncreative for Brandon to do.

  14. I agree with Argent, if you've read any R.A Salvatore - pretty much every dragon can shapeshift into a human form. I wouldn't be surprised if Brandon had something similar happening, considering we have a whole race of dragons which could be introduced at any time! Mraize being a dragon would be one hell of a story arc that I personally can't wait to read more about!

  15. Oh I would LOVE to see Ialai becoming a prime villain. I do think she has the balls and the wits for it. Her becoming a surgebinder fighting on the other sied would be lovely as we are getting short on villains.

I do not think the murder will be pinned on Dalinar as it is obivous he was not at the proper place at the proper time. I still think Ialai will go straight to Adolin. Dalinar is too big of a target, especially now he is a Radiant, but not the son. The son is easy to get to. I think Adolin may try to hide it at first, but he will come clean at some point. What may harm Dalinar is how he decides to deal with his son. No doubt on my part he will ask Adolin to break the bond with his sword and give up his plate. A full sharbearer does not get the chance to have a trial: they are executed. Dalinar will probably try to protect Adolin from execution even if he is mad at him.

I agree, I get a great villain-y vibe off of Lalai. I see her being quiet a significant character in the next book!

  16. Maybe the visions he was receiving from the Almighty told him the same as Dalinar's visions. Gather them, remake the KR. Maybe Gavilar thought bringing the Voidbringers back would bring the heralds and KR back?

I realize as I am typing at how stupid that sounds and I basically disagree with my own counter argument/suggestion LOL

  17. The only issue I have with it being a fabrial and not a spren (or atleast involving them in some way) is during one of Dalinars visions the helmets seem to appear out of no where. Just a puff of mist and it appears (similar to a shard blade). Where as the current shard plate, you have to carry it around with you.

    Just a thought
