  1. I'm just thinking outloud here, but I wanted to get some feed back on some cosmere-related things I've noticed. These aren't really theories per se, but just ideas I've had. Not really sure on the whole "spoiler" definition, so I'm just going to add this all in a spoiler so I don't ruin anything for anyone. If that's not right, it's just one extra click anyway!

I have recently become obsessed with the Zahel = Vasher theory, and am completing a re-read of Warbreaker to research more on this theory and the general workings of the cosmere as a whole. A few similarities a notice (whether they are important or accurate is yet to be determined):

    - When Siri is teaching Susebron the alphabet, the first letter she points out is "shash". Sound familiar? maybe linked to a certain glyph used on Roshar in Stormlight Archive? Maybe all languages in the cosmere are derived from one language? Does anyone know any other language-related similarities between books?

    - Denth takes Vivenna to meet with Forgers to create some fake government documents. Granted these men were going to be forging documents, but I found the capitalization of Forgers rather significant, given their appearance in The Emporer's Soul.

    - I've read that Brandon has hinted at a Terris woldhopper in Warbreaker, effectively tying into Scadrial and Mistborn as well. I'm still looking into this though.

    - Is it possible all Worldhoppers are some sort of "Returned" beings? The 17th Shard members we see in tWoK seem to support this theory: Galladon is a "returned" Elantrian and Demoux is arguably "reborn" after Sazed joins Preservation & Ruin to form Harmony. If Zahel = Vasher is true, then he is both a worldhopper and a Returned. I think from what we know about Hoid, he shows up throughout the entire cosmere and definitely seems to have much more involvement with "magic" than a normal person should.

I dont have nearly enough time as I would like to devote to looking through these forums, so I;m sure these ideas have already been discussed or dismissed somewhere else, but I'd love to hear some feedback on people that know a little more about the cosmere than I do.

  2. I'm going to have to agree with JamHeretic on this one. While I'd like to think Axies would be able to identify spren, the fact is so little is actually KNOWN about them. Generally everything we "know" is either an assumption made by people based on their interpretation of what spren do, or else we're getting conflicting information from Syl or Pattern. It may just be me, but I'd take everything said by someone/something that can barely remember themselves with a grain of salt.

Not that Cusicesh can;t be a spren, but there is just too much unknown to decide either way. Personally, I;m leaning towards it being something more substantial, otherwise why dedicate an Interlude to it?

  3. Hello all! My search for more information on the recurring character Hoid let me to this gem of a site, and have been reading theories and chats non-stop.  I'm finally ready to get in on the action.

I'm a huge fan of Sanderson's writing, and if the epic 36-book cosmere story is correct, I can only marvel at his amazing level of world-crafting. I look forward to finding more insightful information here and being able to share my own ideas and theories.  I only have one friend that reads Sanderson, so it will be nice to have a much broader range of ideas!

  4. First off, this is my first post, so I'll try not to embarrass myself. Secondly, I'm at work so I'll have to make it short and sweet for now.

Assuming the sword Nalan gives to Szeth is actually Nightblood, which seems a VERY safe assumption given the description and the sword speaking to him, this leads us to the question "How did Nightblood get to Roshar and why does Nalan have it?" I was reading the possible Vasher - Zahel theories and I have to say it's intriguing. It hardly seems Vasher would just give up Nightblood, but I find it more than suspicious if they happen to be separated but both be in the same place (ie a place they, by all "reasonable" means, shouldn't even be).

The Heralds must still be around somewhere, and given the current state of the world, I would bet they start making a more obvious appearance (for better or worse).
