This is a very important scene in the comic i’m very happy i finally got to draw, and that’s why i went all out. It’s a turning point in Kaladin and Gaz’s alliance/friendship, and a moment marked by great trust from both of them- for Kaladin, it’s letting someone in on a secret that could get him and his men executed. And for Gaz it’s going somewhere secluded, at night, with the shash-branded slave with nothing to lose.

The passing of the torch is symbolic as well for this very reason. Although it’s less about a change of roles and more like Kaladin letting Gaz in on his plans. It’s kind of a gamble on Kaladin’s part.

I'd just like to say that I love this comic. I love how you draw it, and I think that you're really good at drawing stuff and using computer drawing tools. (I like this comic more than the books it comes from, sometimes.) I also like how you stayed true the characters Sanderson created while also allowing Gaz and Kal to become friends. Masterful work. *slow clap*

The reason I like the comic better than the book sometimes is because of the optimism, by the way.

Thank you so much! This is such a sweet comment... I have a lot of fun drawing this comic, and i try to stay close to the characters bc i love them so much ♥ i'm glad you're enjoying it and will do my best to make the rest of the comic as good as i can! And yeah i'm trying to make it a pretty upbeat story all things considered, like... Everyone can be redeemed. It's right there in the title! :)

Thank you so much! It's one of my favorite things to do... I basically planned this page specifically bc i wanted to do cool shading effects!
