Spren of Kindness she/her Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 (edited) Did some digging, and could not find a topic to post this in that wouldn't be minor necro, so here we are. Yesterday, I had a thought. You know what would be a great cameo for Sanderson if he wanted one? A member of Bridge Four. (Yes, I know, almost all Rosharans look somewhat Asian/Polynesian.) There was a symbolic thing about him having that cameo that came up in my brain, but I don't remember it now. If someone wants to figure out why that's symbolic, I won't stop you. (Someone please figure it out.) Anyone else have random thoughts about an adaption that don't pertain to casting or live action vs. animated? Post 'em here! I think Sanderson was just touring Asia when he first wrote WoK, and he said that in some WoB somewhere. I don’t know where though. Sorry.

No, that was me. Spoiler So are we just going to both try to take the blame here? Because that was definitely my poor clarification.

Spoiler Oh no we’re going to pull the me and Connie I think it would be awesome if one of bridge four was like Sanderson, or maybe one of his children.
+JesterLavorre she/they Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 To end this self-blame train, how about I interject a few of my thoughts? I think this could work as a cameo, although it may be fun to have him play a world hopper so that he can appear in multiple Cosmere franchises. Maybe Felt? He doesn’t have a huge role in anything, but he’s a known world hopper who gets a few lines. Of course, if becomes more prominent later in the Cosmere, that may not work as well. Maybe he can be the worldhopping Kandra? 3 hours ago, Spren of Kindness said: Anyone else have random thoughts about an adaption that don't pertain to casting or live action vs. animated? Post 'em here! Okay, I’ve thought way too much about this... The prologue should function the same way it does in the books. At the start of each season, there should be a flashback to gavilar’s death. The prelude. I think it could be weird to start the first season with two flashbacks. I think it may work best to interject this into the first season in the middle somewhere. This way, we can learn about the lore of the heralds first, before the truth being revealed to us. I think WoR and TWoK should be combined into one season of 10 to 14 episodes (10 would be appropriate thematically). This way, we can get to the main storyline of stopping the voidbringers quickly. While I would love to have more time for the first two books, I think dragging out the time before the primary enemies of the series arrive for two whole seasons will lose audience interest pretty fast.

I think we have enough of a lesser antagonist with the war with the parshendi and all the drama in the war camps that we could make a season each work. Ordinary people won’t necessarily need to know about the voidbringers to be invested in the assassination and revenge and all that. There’s only so much you can cut and still have everything make sense. I also have some soundtrack ideas but I’m still brainstorming those
