guess its the influence of Brandon Sanderson, as well as the general theories board, but recently I have been reading books with magic systems and wondering why it works like that, or if I do 'this' then does 'that' happen? It also slightly bugs me, when, in the books, everyone takes whatever magic they have for granted and don't...do something about it. If you understand my meaning.

It makes the magic feel more 'sciencey' than mystical if people research and theorize and experiment.

Perhaps one of the best parts of Sanderson's stories is trying to figure out how his amazing magic systems work, but why limit yourself to only his books?

Here you can present your theories on spheretech, both as serious out-of-game theories, and comedic (or serious if you must) in-game theories made by sphere-theorists.

Here are two of my In-Game theories:

The Elder-Arms Theory

  • This theory states that formspheres you used by ancient armies
  • Common spheres were built for grunts. Around private to sergeant rank.
  • Each type of common sphere fulfilled a tactical and/or strategic role
  • Other uncommon or rare formspheres were built for higher ranked officers.
  • These spheres also fulfilled tactical or strategic roles

and The Counter Elder-Arms Theory

  • This theory states that the Elder-Arms Theory is false. The counter arguments are:
  • There are not enough spheremounts to equip an entire army
  • The clothing changes caused by the formspheres are not uniform
  • The proportion uncommon to common formspheres is too high to indicate strictly officer use
  • The evolution mechanic can change a common sphere into an uncommon sphere and vise-versa. Irregardless of any currently given military rank.
  • Certain spheres do not seem to have any tactical or strategic role in combat operations, such as an Iron Chemist.

Enjoy!

This is a... fantastic idea.

Hmmm... *brainstormbrainstormbrainstorm*

My character Top is a self-proclaimed Monster Philosopher. These are some of the things I've come up with for him to come up with.

•Theory: Monster Growth- Monster kill not only for meat, but to physically (and mentally?) grow. Certain Pros to this include the fact that monsters in captivity, while few in number, are almost always smaller than monsters of the wild. Additionally, size is not necessarily related to age - that observation is generally regarded by scholars to be fact. The only real Cons are that it gives no explanation for the devouring of a monster by another monster, or why this occurs.

•Theory: SphereMorphs and Monsters- SphereMorphs are monsters. Not fully, but some slight part. Pros of this include the fact that Spherees and Grids, and often Mounts come directly from monster bodies; further, it suggests a connection between this and the fact that SphereMorphs almost invariably refer to themselves and normal humans as being different in more than just possessing an artifact of power. Also, SphereMorphs usually have mental instabilities and unstable emotional states, though it could be that these are the only people willing to fight deadly creatures on a regular basis. Cons of this theory innclude the fact that Mounts can be created by humans as of recently, and that the SphereMorphs can change hands without any ill effects on the person who is no longer a Morpher. Plus, they are still human as a species, or procreation would not be possible.

Strange ideas, I know, but each is plausible. There's just too much we still don't know, and , sequestered as we are within the Arena, it will be some time before that changes.

Followers of this theory bring to the table the Claymore Formsphere as evidence.

Form Name: Claymore

Form Source: Manga (Claymore)

Form Description: Claymores are women with half-human and half-monster bodies. This changes the human's hair to a light-blond or white, their eyes to silver, and sometimes they develop elf-like ears. Each claymore weilds a sword larger than any normal person could carry.

Form Abilities:

^stronger than typical humans

^enhanced healing ability

^extreme speed

Yoma Body: limited ability to shapeshift (i.e. fingers to claws, horse legs to run, scaled skin for protection)

^Swordsmanship: Claymores are masters with the sword.

Yoki: Claymores have the ability to utilize Demonic energy to enhance their normal capabilities

Sense Essense: ability to detect sources of energy surrounding the claymore, the distance varies between Claymores

Form Weaknesses:

*Whenever a Claymore uses Yoki, there is a chance that she will be consumed with bloodlust and hunger, turning into a demon.

*Claymores can only be women.

*claymores are infertile.

*Claymores become disconnected with their humanity.

Form Speciation: base

Notice the description.

EDIT: I am assuming that they are in-game theories. Correct me if I am wrong.

As far as I know, they can be either. Or both. I don't believe it matters. It's just coincidence that both so far are in-game.

...

...

...

...

...Or is it?

Thats fine. I just wanted to place emphasis, that there is a difference, so we can discuss actually theories.

The in-game part is just for fun.

Double post sorrys!

As for the prophecy...

The stone is false and always has been!

Are spheres made of stone? I got nothing.

A shelter for the immortal who holds the horrid secret that damns us all!

This is where i get suspicious of you Silus; since both the Geass and Death Note fit. The Death Note has the shinigami, which is immortal, but in the anime Code Geass the ultimate manifestation of the Geass is immortality.

Beware the eye: the eye that stares into the void and, unblinking, unflinching, feeds on its power!

Again, both the Geass and Death Note fit. Geass is obvious, and the Death Note has the eye contract. The only thing is, if the benefactor made the eye contract, why would he need the bedroom doors with names on them?

I feel the urge to speak on some of the thoughts I've had in regards to the propphecy:

• I definitely agree with the Geass idea, especially considering they are stated to have delusions of immortality.

• Also, notice that Melodic Bladesingers weild a knife/Tone of Damnation.

• Is it a coincidence that Ambrosius has both of these Forms?

As to the Stone reference, in my opinion, it could be one of two, maybe more possibilities. One, it could be a reference to the Dungeon. For all we know, the "stone" is actually the innards of some creature, and we've been brought to feed it or some weird idea like that. I don't neccesarily believe it's that extreme, but still... the other possibility is that it references Atium, inkeeping with the connection to Ambro. Atium, as a metal, is not truly such, so, you know. That one is less logical, but it's a possibility.

The Damnation Tone is a good point, but I also think that the atium being the stone is a stretch.

considering they are stated to have delusions of immortality.

Um unsure.gif In the anime, they really did become immortal. I didn't include that when I made the Geass form because that was to powerful.
