First of all I wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm from Germany and trying my best with english.
I read my first Sanderson book at the end of 2018, german version of the Way of Kings, and just recently finished the entire cosmere as it is released atm.

Currently I'm on a reread through the english version of the Stormlight Archive and I can't wait for book four to be published at the end of this year.

Hey! Welcome to the Shard! What's the German name for the books?

The german name for the series is "Sturmlicht Chroniken".

As the books are split in half in german the naming of them is a bit different. Book one and three are translation of the english name, but oathbringer doesn't have a corresponding name in german.

 

And we wont get the cool palindrome like the english titles.

Wow, it's really similar to english version! Not like the title in my language...
What's your favorite spren? (usually everybody asks for charakter, so I'll try something different

My favorite spren is without doubt Pattern. I just his view on certain things and I think he is written very well.

I also like our little voidbringer Wyndle. I sometimes feel pity for him, especially at the start, because of how Lift sees certain think and he just feels so desperate sometimes.

@spaidapig, if The Nightwatcher existed in our world (Ooh what is she called in German?) would you go to her for a wish? (you don't necessarily need to tell us your wish if you don't want to! )

Her german name is "Nachtschauerin" which is basically Nightwatcher in German.

I thought about that, but consindering the possible bad outcome of the curse, I think it's not worth it rn. Maybe some later time in my life.

But I love the idea of the boon/curse mechanic. You never know what you get.

@spaidapig (I think I might have a problem with how much I like this username and keep tagging you so I can type this glorious name again and again, despite the fact that you've got this thread followed ) How did you discover Sanderson?

We were talking about books with some fellow students at University, and some guy was fascinated by the SLA.

I borrowed the two tWoK books from him and was so hooked, that I couldn't even wait three days until I met him again for book three, so I just ordered it for the next day at the bookstore.

At that time the second part of oathbringer wasn't even released in Germany. (It came out last year in April)

That started with a joke back in school over ten years ago. We had a lokal chat platform and I couldn't think of a good username. So I looked at my wall and saw a poster of him.

Oh well time for the questions that everybody always wants to know: favorites! Book, character, magic system, Knight Radiant Order, Allomantic and Feruchemical metal

Characters: Wayne and Jasnah

Magic System: feruchemy

Knight Radiant Order: Elsecallers

Allomantic Metal: Steel or Bendalloy, pretty tough decision

Feruchemical Metal: Nicrosil

 

Book is the toughest decision, I love "the Emperors Soul", but that's just a short story.

I love the new dynamic in "Alloy of Law", the new options with all the twinborn powers.

But I think I have to go with "Words of Radiance"
