Zelly Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Looking for something that I can multitask play while knitting, organizing, "working", etc. Something that doesn't require a lot of attention and you can be AFK if needed. Years ago it was idle skiling in Runescape. More recently it was Eternal Card, which is MtG ish (I usually played the AI). Any recommendations?
Eluvianii he/him Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Rimworld would probably be good for that, You start a colony with three people (you get more) who crash in an alien planet. The game is about building them a house, getting them food, you know, just making sure your colonists survive and then whatever you want from there, You have to give them guidelines and they follow them until you say otherwise. So, they can be mostly independent, kinda like Sims I guess, except these don't die of starvation if you leave them unattended for five minutes, they can take care of themselves unless something important is happening (there's also things like mental breakdowns and such but I'm trying to keep this brief). Also, whenever something important happens (a fire, your colony is under attack, etc) it gives you a notification, so you could be doing other stuff and just listen for the sound it makes. Keep in mind though that I'm only starting myself, so I don't really know if further into the game it starts demanding more attention, but so far it's fun, weird, and relaxing. Gah, Rimworld's been on my Steam wishlist for ages. I keep hoping it will go on sale, and then I think I end up getting something else instead. Guess I'll have to grab it up next time.
MouLik Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 (edited) I just saw your post, and I can't help but wonder: video games can make a massive difference in the background while you work or hang out! They create a chill vibe and can help boost your mood. I’ve found that games with great soundtracks, like Journey or even some RPGs, are perfect for this. They keep things interesting without being too distracting. It’s like having an excellent friend playing nearby! Plus, you can jump into the game for a quick round if you need a little break.I also enjoy listening to some lo-fi gaming playlists; they’re super relaxing and keep my mind focused. If you’re looking for more suggestions, you can check out playlists or videos that mix game sounds with calming music. Just remember to keep it at a low volume so you don’t miss out on any important stuff. You can find great mixes here. Edited October 8, 2024 by MouLik
Scars of Hathsin he/him Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Hi @MouLik Please don't post on a topic if it has been inactive for over about 6 months, as it is considered Necromancy, and is not favourable.
Eluvianii he/him Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Technically it's allowed if you contribute something new. That link however has nothing to do with what he said so this is probably spam...
