Can I just say both? Because swords are cool, but magical technology is also cool. However, I’d rather read about a society that changes and develops, rather than one that’s just stagnated.

But although BranSan did amazing things with swords and spears I'm excited for the next step. Haven't seen much of modern/future fantasy and even if it is set in modern day for some reason they seem to come up with excuses to use magic or swords rather than science or modern weaponry anyway
