I just recently started existing in Sandersonland when my girlfriend (a longtime Sanderfan) finally coerced me into reading Mistborn by giving it to me for my birthday (which, of course, meant I HAD to read it). I'd never really thought of myself as a fantasy fan, but I couldn't put that damnation book down, and two months later I've read the first four books in that series, am halfway through Warbreaker, and am dead-set on reading every single Brandon Sanderson book/novella/everything by the end of the year.

I also think I'm finally starting to understand the concept of fandom.

Somewhat relatedly, I never cry or even really tear up from books or movies or anything other than real life -- it's not that I have anything against it; I've just never been moved that much. And then I read the Well of Ascension, and I actually cried a little bit at the end

because I really thought Elend was gonna die and then Vin fed him the lerasium and he started burning pewter and I wept with joy

and then the Hero of Ages happened and I just couldn't hold it back.

So yeah, that's where I'm at right now. I probably won't be poking around the fora too much until I finish everything, lest I accidentally manage to spoil myself, but I'm excited that there's a community of people this obsessed, and I look forward to joining it.

Welcome! I'm also fairly new to the cosmere side of Sanderson, but I'm making my way through The Stormlight series now. I warn you against spoilers, but there are places to visit still. (I strongly suggest The Longest Thread (Misadventures) because it's really funny)

Ahhhh I'm afraid I don't get the TUBA joke yet, but I'm excited to eventually! xD And I'll definitely check out the Longest Thread then!!

As for my favorite character, I'm definitely gonna have to go with Kelsier -- I know a lot of people don't seem to like him that much, including his own author (or so it kinda seemed from the annotations), but he's one of my favorite characters of all time. Honestly, I think his character has really impacted the way I view the world. Which sounds scary, but... well. It helped wake me up a bit more, let's say.

TUBA's a guild in a RP subforum. Our cookies and rivalry with the DA (Dark Alley) tend to spread to the intro pages as well - the DA likes to take advantage of new members by giving them hemalurgically spiked cookies, claiming they'll give you superpowers.

The DA does no such thing! The cookies are delicious and not at all spiked!
