soulwarrior89 Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Hey there! I've known about this forum for a while, and I've finally decided to check it out. One day in late summer 2017, I was at Barnes & Noble with a few friends. I decided to check out this fantasy author that I had been hearing good things about, so I picked up Mistborn. I wasn't much of a casual reader and it took me a while to start reading it (laziness was a part of that). The prologue caught my interest, and a few chapters in I was hooked. I finished it after maybe a month, and immediately got Well of Ascension. Partially through that, I ordered Hero of Ages in advance. I learned about the Cosmere and started reading up on it, while trying to dodge spoilers (avoiding Coppermind until I had read everything). About a year later I finished everything Cosmere and what a ride that was! Now I get to wait for new releases like everyone else. In the meantime I have started working on Brandon's non-Cosmere works. I started Skyward and blew through it in 6 days, which must be a new record for me. Now on to the others! Over the last few months, since finishing the Cosmere I've been listening to podcasts discussing and dissecting and theorizing about these books. I'm incredibly excited for what's to come. 3

Jaywalk he/him Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 My friend was also not much of a reader, but Sanderson brought him back. Crazy what the Cosmere can do to you. You don't have to beware the entire Alleyverse, just anyone who offers you a cookie. Unless it's TUBA approved--then you're good.
soulwarrior89 Posted January 8, 2019 Author Posted January 8, 2019 I don't have a single favorite character, but I'm a big fan of Wayne, Adolin, and Hoid (especially in Stormlight Archive). My favorite Brandon book so far is probably Oathbringer. I've never heard of Alleyverse, and after looking it up I'm very confused. 1
