Cosmere Doodles

Those are really nice @Ookla the Scrawny!
They all have nice, clean forms, are well rendered and have very interesting use of negative space.

My favorite is the Parshmen inspired form on the right, I really like how the brow ridge line swirls into the orbital of the eye.

If you are looking for things to doodle in a similar style, maybe try some forms based on starfighter shapes from Skyward.

Thanks! I'm going to try and design a few more. They'll all be a bit similar, but at the same time I don't want them too different.

Awesome, I'll look into it! I've been reading it online lately and man is it good.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Reckoner series or of the Rithmatist, so I was wary of Brandon's YA work, but Skyward is flat out amazing. You should totally check it out.

Also, there's a short science fiction story that takes place in the same universe as Skyward. The details about this are in the spoiler tag below (because this isn't on the Skyward spoiler board).

Spoiler

If you haven't read Defending Elysium (the hyperlink will take you to Brandon's website where you can read the short story for free), you should really check it out. It's an amazing story and ties in to the Skyward story in pretty remarkable ways.

If you like audio books, there's a free masterfully narrated version of Defending Elysium that you can listen to it here, produced by the podcast site Starship Sofa, which is a remarkably awesome name for a sci-fi short story podcast site.

Sweet! Yeah it's a very good read for sure. Thanks!

I love this one! This is graphically incredibly pleasant.

I really like your geometric compositions, the thick to thin lines is really nicely done and I love the sense of balance your compositions have.

Also, looking at the # 2 pattern art got me wondering, how big are the original drawings (next to the text the pattern #2 drawing looks like it could be Really tiny)
