hi

been lurking around for a while...decided to branch out and join the fun. I'm big into Cosmere, and love reading the threads with theories and WoBs, so. Going to the Chicago signing next month - still can't believe it, honestly. Brandon's books saved my life once upon a time - depression and OCD are not fun - and I'll be glad of the chance to meet him and thank him for all the wonderful worlds and people that he's given us in his books, and the messages of hope and bravery that they bring us.

Hello and welcome to the shard!
We are always to have new people here!

Which book of Brandon did you like best so far?

Hello, and welcome! Would you like a complimentary spike-free chromium Fortune Cookie? Also, glad you're still here, brandon's works are powerful.

I never turn down fortune cookies, especially spike-free chromium ones.

The struggle never really ends, but these days, at least, I think my life is worth fighting for even if my depression doesn't. Words are the most powerful thing on the planet - so thank you for giving me kind words of welcome, all of you.

I REALLY like your profile picture. I see the One Ring, the Deathly Hallows, Jormungand and of course the logo of the Knights Radiant. Only inside the top left circle I can't recognize, can you tell me what it represents?

Also ... Did you make it yourself?

(Gasp) Somebody else from the midwest!  Do you live in northern Illinois by any chance?  If you do, I might be in the area.

I did not make my icon, I found it online while looking for a Wheel of Time wallpaper that I could use as a template for a woodworking project. I've looked for the original artist and been unable to find them, sadly, so if you happen to stumble across them ever, I'd appreciate a heads-up. The top left one is meant to represent the Kingkiller Chronicle books by Patrick Rothfuss.

I'm actually from north Georgia (and California, and Japan, and Rhode Island, and Tennessee...military brat, hah), but I'm a student at Purdue, so I spend most of the year up here. Still, it's only about a two hour drive, so I end up in Chicago every now and again for various reasons.

Oh well.  It was worth a shot.  And thank you SO MUCH for mentioning the signing in Chicago.  I'd read about it when all the dates were initially posted, and then promptly forgot about it.  I literally would have missed it if you hadn't mentioned it .  Just for that, have another upvote.  I'm going to try to head up there, if I can find somebody else to go with.
