disillusion Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I've only read the trilogy about Vin and started the one about Wax i think they are both part of Mistborn. I really don't know whats going on with the cosmere or anything. I just really liked the books a lot and was reading about Brandon Sanderson and randomly found this place. 1
Embrisk he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Yo. Yes, they are both part of the Mistborn series. Welcome to Sanderson's work. Once you join, you never leave. (Sinister giggling) 2
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 (edited) Welcome to the Shard. You can see the master himself explain the cosmere here TL:DR: The cosmere's a shared universe where each book/ book series takes place on its own planet. Also look for a guy named Hoid. Feel free to read the books in any order. Though I'd suggest reading Warbreaker before the Stormlight Archive. Again, welcome to the Shard. Also if you could be a misting what metal would you burn? PS: Servillius is right, there's no turning back now. (evil cackle) Edited October 16, 2018 by Pagliacci 2
disillusion Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 I think Id like to burn brass or bendalloy. They both seem super op to me but I guess all the metals are op compared to nothing haha.
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Who would you say is your favourite character?
disillusion Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 I really liked Sazed and Vins dog guy.
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Sazed is one of my personal favourites as well.
disillusion Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 I love his mannerisms and style and the way he tackles issues of faith and religion is super interesting.
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 His character growth was arguably the most compelling in Mistborn, I think. Spoiler I thought his depression and shifting views on religion were incredibly fascinating. The ending of the trilogy has a certain level of irony to it in regards to Sazed.
disillusion Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 Oh gosh, I never thought about it but yes the ending is very interesting in regards to Sazed. Also i just realised I listened to the audiobooks and his voice is so so good too. How do you hide text? 1
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 (edited) When you're typing you'll notice an eyeball on the screen, click that Did you listen to the books on Audible? You might be interested to know Brandon is on a podcast sponsored by Audible. So if you're an aspiring writer you might want to check it out. It's called Writing Excuses. Embrisk he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 So, where are you going to go from here? More of his other books?
Pagliacci he/him Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I've read just about everything by Sanderson. Just have to read White Sand, some of his short stories and Bands of Mourning.
