Ketek Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Easiest way would be atium. But knowing how little of that there is... Another problem would be the bind points.
Kobold King he/him Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Easiest way would be atium. But knowing how little of that there is... Another problem would be the bind points. Well, Syl can have a humanoid figure. She has eyes, a torso, basically everything a human has. Do you think the bind points would stay the same for a spren?
Ketek Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Maybe. Pretty interesting though, trying to bind a Splinter... would it just be like normal Hemalurgy or would there be ramifications?
Pechvarry Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I thought we had WoB confirmation that Hemalurgy requires intent, which was supplied by Ruin during the original trilogy. So, by definition, hemalurgy cannot happen accidentally. Theoryland search failed me.
Moogle Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) Well, location doesn't matter, for one thing. You can still access Allomancy on Roshar, I don't see why Hemalurgy would be different. However, I'm not so sure about metals; you might need Scadrian metals. In that case, it could be in pretty expensive. We have a recent WoB that you can Soulcast Allomantically viable metals without anything special, though alloys are a bit harder. Q: If I were to try to Soulcast pewter, the way Shallan does with the blood in The Way of Kings, would it come out that an Allomancer be able to use it? A: You could create Allomantically viable metals, yes. Q: But is it automatic? A: I would say that the pure metals are, but the alloys are not. It probably doesn't require Scadrian metals. Shardmancer he/him Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I do believe Ruins influence is present on other worlds- now finding out who has been spiked has been of great debate lately.
Ketek Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Ruin is, after all the embodiment of entropy. The force of destruction and change. So if intent is required, and provided by Ruin, I would say it could still happen accidentally. The problem would be binding it correctly and getting into a situation you could kill and spike two people at the same time. The Lord Ruler never found out new bind points during a thousand years of research, mind.
