  • They have insider information! Worked closely with Peter. Brandon has said: “You are canon until if/when I decide to change it"

Do you have a WoB where this statement was recanted or a counter point?

On your specific instances:

1) Your correct on that point.

2) The rule for Duralumin assume you're going to only burn it with other metals and at that in an emergency as it will deplete other metals when used and not continually use it. Considering its burn rate is instant that makes some sense.

3) It was noted by Vin about Zane and even acknowledged by the Inquisitor Kesler fought that the ability to push/pull on metals at spots other than their centers of mass was a very High Level of Skill with Pushing and Pulling.

@Incheoul No. And I did not say wrong. I said Incomplete and off base. Not Incorrect. There may be a way to use Investiture to Enhance Alloymancy. Considering the Many feats of the Lord ruler this is not outside the realm of Possibility. How ever at the Time of the Alloy of Law At least there are no mechanics that would allow anyone to do this. Alloymancy can be used to Enhance Fulcrimency easily as a Compounder how ever the situations where it goes the other way are Highly specific. Things like crasher twinborn where the strength of your push is altered by your weight.

As the person who wrote that, it specifically refers to worldbuilding stuff and does *not* refer to the mechanics of the Metallic Arts.

Investiture can power anything, but that doesn't mean you can convert one type of Investiture to another. Nothing in that WoB implies Stormlight can become Breaths, for example. Just because I can power an engine with gasoline or ethane does not mean I can convert gasoline to ethane.

The WoB says you can use raw Investiture (which you can get in Feruchemy by converting your stored attributes) to power other stored attributes. This is okay, as that's all human-Investiture (whatever Investiture Feruchemists get?). There's no Investiture conversion - you put in human-Investiture into the metalminds, convert it into human-Investiture in a nicrosilmind, and convert it to human-Investiture to power other attributes in other metalminds.

It depends on how strongly Intent is associated with Investiture. If Intent is malleable, it might be possible to alter the type of Investiture to work in a different magic system. We know that Nightblood can feed off of multiple types of Investiture, so he presumably removes or alters the Intent so that he can use it. In general, I agree with you, but we need to know more.

@ Tavash: I specifically asked you not to respond to individual points, as my aggregate point was that I have dozens of examples of inconsistencies. I have literally less than no interest in compiling the entire list for you, or to engage you in debating every point. You've even already conceded one of them. My underlying premise, which is that the mechanics of the game already contradict canon, stands.

@Inch: I have a number of concerns about your hypothesis, but here's the biggest. Even if all of this did work, which I find unlikely, it still wouldn't make the super-nicroburst grant additional power to other allomancers. Duralumin, and nicrosil, causes a burst of power by burning all of the metal at one time. What you get out of it is the sum total of what you'd've gotten if you burned it all consistently. If I nicroburst two pewterarms, and one had 5g of pewter in his system and the other had 15g, the one with 15g would be three times as strong. If I did somehow become a stronger nicroburst and did the same thing... the one with 15g would be three times as strong. He would still burn those 15g within seconds, just as the other guy would still burn his 5g in seconds, and they would each get the benefit of having burned it all at once. There is some speculation that a more powerful nicroburst can compress the burst even faster, so that rather than power spread over three seconds it's concentrated to one second at triple strength, but your skill/power still isn't adding anything to the Thug's burst, you're simply making the burst possible.
