Moogle Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) There was a sketch of Pattern in the books which had blacked-out sections of text. You can see it here. It's nothing special, but I ran it through photoshop and increased the constrast, equalized it, and brightened it up so we could read the text. It's still not perfect unfortunately, but for those like me who couldn't read it before, here it is. Some words are still near-impossible to read, and I'd appreciate if anyone knows what the heck they say. The image reads, so far as I can tell: The Pattern is changing shape almost constantly. It shifts pace often, changing slowly at some times and very quickly at others.I cannot yet tell what might cause these changes in timing.(Blacked out text section)It appears to be made up of lines...? They're not exactly tendrils or tentacles, they don't grasp or reach... they just keep dividing and multiplying and combining into different patterns.(Blacked out text section)The lines always seem to be connected, either at the central root of the Pattern or by dividing off from a root line, (delicate? duplicate?) shapes mix and overlap and reduce by multiple (?).(Blacked out text section)It almost seems to phase in and out between two and three-dimensional space. I think it prefers a surface to connect with, but I have seen it (?) through the air on rare (occasion?).(Blacked out text section)It certainly presents (some?) (sort?) of depth, but the Pattern doesn't appear to possess any consistent dimensions in term of size.It seems to have an infinite cariety of permutations! The lines that make up the Pattern sweep and curl and straighten and twist, smoothly dividing and combining together and moving apart again in a constant tangle of lines. It never looks chaotic, there is *always* a pattern to the shapes. The divisons of the Pattern vary, but appear to be constantly even.(Blacked out text section)I am almost certain that I have seen this Pattern somewhere before. It shares some resemblance with the creatures I observed in Kharbranth, but without the body and those strange robes. Is it possibly a (chull?) or servant of theirs? You have no idea what I went through to recover this from the bottom of the Rosharan ocean. You owe me a new coat. -Nazh There's nothing really all that new here, but I'd still like to get the whole image figured out. If anyone can read those darn blacked out words, I'd appreciate it. Argent he/him Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) Uh, somebody made a thread a couple of weeks back, we had the entire thing figured out back then. Ah, it was RShara - here. Edited April 21, 2014 by Argent 1
Moogle Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) Ah, thanks Argent. Can't believe I missed that. If any mods feel like nuking this thread, go for it. Edited April 21, 2014 by Moogle
