Yettoo Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 When Rock is talking about his dip in a lake he talks a about someone who came out of the lake who's description could easily be Elantrian. Sigzil's reaction was very emphasized. I couldn't find any other references to the white haired man. Do we know who it is?!
Awesomeness Summoned he/him Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) It's been strongly theorized that is Hoid (Wit). Sigzil's reaction is because he recognized the description of his former master. In other cosmere works Hoid is described as having White hair. He typically dyes it to fit in. If I get a minute I'll add the links to those topics. Though, Kurk or Argent will likely provide the links eventually if I don't get around to it Edit: here are a few topics that discuss it http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6967-hoid-worldhopping-theory-spoilers/?p=114150 http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7169-world-hopping-and-sel/?p=119779 http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7506-the-three-laws-of-hoid/?p=124153 http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7181-spoiler-question-on-the-hoed/?p=118300 And a WoB where he doesn't contradict that was Hoid. Q: Since Hoid is the Horneater god, are there, or at least implied, would other Shards... A: Hoid is not a Shard. Q: Or other Shards that are related to Hoid, since he's in the same time period. Would they also be Horneater gods? A: I think that the Horneaters might interpret things very differently from their reality, as they are viewing certain things... Q: So would they originally be from Roshar, or would they have travelled from somewhere else? A: That's a RAFO, it depends on the person. Hoid is not originally from Roshar. RShara she/her Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Q: Will we learn more about the character currently known as Hoid in Words of Radiance?A: Yes, you will. Watch for a story told at a bar. Yep it's Hoid. 5
Wrath Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 It turns out that the whole point of the Highstorms is to rearrange the geography of Roshar into a planet-sized Aon.
