Zelly
This is bit random, so if it doesn't belong I understand. BUT... I'm losing my mind dealing with a youtube problem so if any one has advice I'd be most appreciative. About a week ago, all youtube vids for me suddenly began a video lag every 3 seconds. The audio is completely fine. The video just pauses for .5-1 second every 3 seconds, then skips ahead so it's matched up again, then repeats. I've poked around other streaming/video sites and it's only youtube that's affected. It's not buffering either, I really just don't know. I've tried restarting my compy (which is new and nice), watching in lower settings, seeing if anything is acting weird in task manager, clearing my cache..... Also, if I have a window (Word, internet tab, doesn't matter what) opened in front of playing window, it plays fine. So my current work around is to have a tiny 2 inch window open in the corner of my screen. O_o Any ideas? Ashertliden
What browser are you using?

Ashertliden
If it works in edge but not chrome then I recommend uninstalling chrome and reinstalling it. (You won't lose any data if you have synced your google account to chrome) Edited August 25, 2018 by A stick mispell
mattig89ch he/him
You could also try using a different browser all together. I prefer firefox, but there are others out there.
cfphelps he/him
It's probably also worth poking around in the YouTube settings to make sure that there isn't some setting enabled that limits data usage. Less likely on a computer vs phone, but it might share settings across devices.
jixiang he/him
I solved it by turning off hardware acceleration on chrome.
The Stormfather He/Him
Try doing a hard reset of the computer.
