Question about Felt

Can Felt manipulate his connection? I came across this WoB and I remember reading OB and that no one really gives much thought to the line Felt says when he says he's foreign. He explains this is why the night watcher won't visit him. The WoB says he should stand out more.

This reads to me like he can manipulate his connection? My guess would have to be hemalurgy but I don't think we have confirmation yet on what kind of spike steals connection. But that brings up questions like how did he learn about hemalurgy or did he come across a different investiture to manipulate his connection?

The Ire have the glowing orb that Kelsier steals that manipulated connection...that’s how Kelsier is able to be connected enough to Preservation to help out between Leras’ complete dissolution and Vin’s Ascension. His life was to Ruin-y to have allowed that.

Other worldhoppers can manipulate Connection without hemalurgy, like the Seventeenth Shard members in the Purelake interlude. Galladon in particular stands out since he's got Dula grammar slipping into his sentences, which is a sign of Connection-based translation used by someone who hasn't actually learned the local language(s) and we know there's a Scadrian in that group too, Demoux. Felt is likely using a similar if not identical method, though it's also possible he's actually learned Alethi outright and is speaking it normally. I don't remember offhand if he uses any odd expressions, just that Dalinar notes his short size and 'Shin' eyes as the obvious 'Not From Roshar!' indicators.

Other obvious cases are Vasher and Vivenna, who are definitely using Connection-manipulation without local language skills, given how both say things that the magic is clearly struggling to interpret and so outputs literally, to the confusion of their audience.

All that said, we know that Connection can be stolen hemalurgically as Brandon has mentioned that you need at least two spikes to steal magic from Sel, one for the magic itself and one for Connection to the right geographic region. But we have no clue what metal could steal this aside from the do-anything metal that is atium. Hemalurgy Table when? xD

That is very true, I 100% forgot about them showing up and them having Connection foibles like characters from the Bands of Mourning. But Demoux also being from that time period (final empire era) is what really throws me off. Both of them are from a time period in which Scadrial has no knowledge of the coins that are in BoM. I assumed hemalurgy as it would have been a magic system that a spy in the Final Empire might have learned about. My problem is I doubt that Demoux would have had access to that knowledge unless the 17th Shard was giving it out but it seems more likely that they are using a different magic system to create connection similar to the coins. I cant think of any magic systems in the known cosmere that can manipulate Connection in the current era of Roshar. Unless there's a WoB out there I'm missing xD

I totally spaced this from Secret History haha. I guess that means that Sel has some way of manipulating connection. This really answers my question. There's just so much to remember at once. I really need to reread the cosmere again since Ive only just got through it for the first time. Im sure I'll have more questions before that though lol.
