You know, I just can't bring myself to be excited about ASoIaF anymore. I'll finish the series, but I no longer hype over them like I used to...

Don't worry, Argent, I'll take all of your excitement and then some.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

I love me some me some Song of Ice and Fire. Really still some of my favorite books, and the show is just spectacular and puts all other television to shame. (In my opinion.)

I will admit I am more excited for the next season than the next book, only because Season 4 will cover my absolute favorite part of the series, the ending of Book 3.

So yeah, in comparison, getting a small preview about a book that's still probably got years until it comes out, isn't as exciting.

I dunno. For me, I just really enjoyed the books. I guess I can understand people saying it gets slow/boring at times, but for me, that's not so much a problem, really. It's basically the same thing that happened with Wheel of Time, things start getting bigger and bigger, and may sometimes get dry with the thoroughness of it all, but to me that's just impressive. Being able to keep a consistent, fluid world like that.

No, things won't always be endless excitement and battle scenes and all that 'cool' stuff. Even though GRRM delivers quite a bit more gore than most other writers. I know not many people on this forum specifically have given these criticisms, but I really don't like when I hear people complaining about the 'lack of' dragons and the wight walkers.
Yeah, it's been taking awhile. But it makes sense. Dragons need to grow up. Dany just can't sit there and do nothing while they grow, which obviously has taken a little while. Same with the Wight Walkers. They are the evil forces of Winter. The series started in Summer, and seasons can last years. So now that it's Winter, I'm sure the walkers will come.

Arya and Tyrion are just some of my favorite characters ever. This preview was definitely a little weird, though. It's been a while so I can't even remember who the Rooster? Sigil is supposed to be, lol.

I feel ya. I can hardly think of a character that I'm even cheering for anymore. That and the last two books were just so sloooooow. I have hopes that GRRM will take the criticism and pick up the pace, especially considering how much needs to happen.

But I'm one of those people who has to read the entire story unless it gets absolutely unbearable. It almost got to that point with Wheel of Time, but I stuck it out (after a 4 year break) and I am so happy that I did. So the excitement that I feel is really just a bit of "Wow, there is direct evidence that he is writing."

The new season of the show is going to be so good though. Finally my favorite character is on screen. OBERYN!!!!!!!!
