Taking notes, the clerk nodded.

"It will be done. Thank you for your business. We will send it to you by mail.

After guiding the customer out the Door. The clerk flipped a sign on the door, that read:

WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR BUSINESS, AND HOPE TO REOPEN IN A FEW WEEKS, SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Riathor stared at the sign.

"What... but... I just wanted to..."

He sighed.

"Dangit,"

A woman walked through the doors.

"Hello, I'm Georgia. I'm here from Alleyzon. We are interested in a partnership, so people could order from the Craftsmen when they can't get to them."

The clerk looks up.

"Uhhhhh... I'm not sure How I feel about that. I'll need to bring in Mack." The clerk runs off to find Mack.

A few hours later, he walks back in, burnt and limping. He's followed by a silvery man in black and gold robes, wearing a pair of what look like aluminum plated gauntlets.

"Here they are boss." The clerk stumbles, and Mack catches him.

"Thank you. Again, I'm sorry about the fireball. Go to the infirmary." Mack turned to face the Alleyzon representative. "Well, uh this is certainly a surprise. I actually forgot 'bout the store being closed. Sorry about that. Uh, but I'm not sure that I like the idea of letting someone else handle my merchandise. We make the most dangerous stuff on the market, and I carefully pick both my employees and who I sell to so that I can make sure that its not causing too much damage. I will have to respectfully decline the partnership idea.

With that said, I am not expecting any more delays in production. And will promptly re-open shop, so that should no longer be an issue."

Sorry about that, I completely forgot about this thread. It is now open again.

"No, no, no. That isn't what I mean! We want people who live in other places, people without access to transport, to be able to reach the Craftsmen! Is there anything we can do to convince you that we can be trusted with your merchandise?"

Posted

"We have shipping and do take mail orders. But, I'm not really sure I want some of the merchandise that I have being spread across the alleyverse. No offense, but I don't know who you would sell to, and who they would sell too, and I really wan't to keep the supply Of my products in my hands."

She smiled, leaving a business card on the door, and left. Her last words echoed.

"Well, we will buy you anyway."

*visible confusion*

"This isn't a public business, so no getting a majority share in the company. I'm, really confused about how you plan to buy my business from me without my permission. Heck, you can't even drive me out of business! You don't even know how we make our money!"

Mack walked around the front of the shop. Voidus was about to be released, so he should be able to refocus his time on the shop. With ideas of a traders union being formed, it would be a good idea for people to know that the best craftsmen in the cosmere were open for business still.

Still, he needed to pitch the idea of a traders union to other people. He walked to the counter and pulled out a spanreed, sending a message to the owner of Metalurgy and investiture, @Dr. Dapper asking him if he would show up for a meeting.

Dwig pushed the door open and walked in.

"Metallurgy and Investiture is no more, it was folded into my new company, Trident Manufacturing. Still, your idea is a good one."

Posted

"Hello Dwig.

The idea would be that if all the businesses and manufacturers got together in a traders union, we would be able to A more effectively improve the lives of people in the Alleyverse, and B have more power than we do separately. What do you think?"

Laonin warily approached the headquarters of The Craftsmen. He had been hearing rumors of a Union being formed for some time, and he was curious what it entailed. He heard they were in it to help the people of the city, something he had been trying to do himself. He had not been alone in his endeavors, but a well organized and we'll funded group could make a larger impact. He hoped that coming uninvited would not be seen in an unfavorable light.

He walked through the front doors, and introduced himself to the first person he saw.

So, what do you think would be the state of the Forge group after a year? For RP reasons.

I'll try to get a summary post in The Forge later to say what Laonin has been up to, and let everyone respond with what they had been up to. I had kind of intended for Laonin to continue after the year, but with the Union popping up, if he can get involved it would fit with his motivations.

That person happened to be a clerk sitting at the front desk.

“Hello there!” He asked with a smile on his face, “How can we help you?”

"Hello. My name is Laonin Kungli. I have heard word of some sort of Union being formed here in the city. A Union with the intent of helping the residents of this city who have been harmed by the inter-guild conflicts that tend to be so prevalent here." Laonin says this, walking over to the front desk.

"I was hoping to find out some more information about this group, and possibly offer my services to assist in this endeavor."

The clerk grinned, "Of course, right this way." He walked over to a door and opened it up, leading to a descending staircase. "Despite the humble storefront, we have quite the complex underground. The Union project is above my paygrade, so I am going to take you to a conference room where I can get the boss to meet with you," He opened a door to a small room with a table in it. "Wait here please, he will be a minute." The man walked out. About 5 minutes later he returned with an elantrian in black and gold robes.

"Hello Mr. Kungli, you came here to talk about the Traders Union? I was actually just about to try to find you.," Mack took a seat then continued talking, "The traders union would be a group of guilds allied together for greater political power, but also to help the people of the city. I have little to no faith in a government that consists of the people who caused the problems that they neglected to fix for about 18 years. I am endeavoring to get the major companies together to try and improve the city. While this is certainly a big project, we can definitely accomplish it. I heard that you and your people are trying to fix up parts of the city as well, would you be interested in joining the project?"
