npi2015 Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Hey there. I actually created this account a while back, but I have not yet introduced myself. I read my first Sanderson book 3 or 4 years ago, but I completely forgot about it. Then, this summer I stumbled upon TWOK (I had no idea I had read any of his books before) and since then I have read all of his books except WOT and The Rithmatist. I am looking forward to discussing the Cosmere and asking some questions as well! 2

npi2015 Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 I really don't know, I liked all of them. If I had to choose, though, I'd probably stick with one of the SA. It was what first got me into the Cosmere, and I read both TWOK and WOR in under a week. I also really enjoyed The Reckoners, and Elantris, and Mistborn, and Warbreaker, and the Arcanum Unbounded... In other words, I enjoyed every single up to date

Exerxes he/him Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Hey... I get how you feel about not knowing you've read his books before. I read the Reckoners series, and a couple years later started reading TWOK and i didn't know that they were the same author. Edited May 2, 2018 by Exerxes

The Rithmatist is a mystery/thriller targeted at young adults/teens, not as serious or dark as his other novels, but still an excellent story and -- of course -- it has an intriguing magic system. The Alcatraz books are quick reads targeted at teens/tweens, and it is wacky, fun, and utterly hilarious (try to get the editions that are illustrated by Hayley Lazo; her art does a fantastic job of capturing the world and characters). That's my two copper clips.
