UK cover hardbacks

Recommended Posts

Having come slightly late to the first 2 Stormlight books I haven't been able to find UK cover hardback editions anywhere, with the exception of 1 or 2 massively over priced copies on amazon ect. The obvious solution to this was to ask if there were any plans for a reprint of these first 2 books, principally The Way of Kings, which seemed to have a very small print run in hardback. The response from the publisher was not very encouraging, stating that as no one else had requested this there was clearly no market. So basically I was wondering if anyone else here is interested in trying to make this happen and would like to contact the publisher to show there is some support for the idea. Hardbacks with the American cover art seem to be easy to get hold of but aren't what I am looking for.  Any thoughts, ideas always welcome.

Dear ######

Thanks for your email. I’ve sent it to Brandon Sanderson’s editor and she says that as yours is the only request she’s had, reprinting the hardback would be an uneconomic project to undertake. Sorry.

Best wishes

Yes I have looked at ebay and a variety of other sources, but I think because of the relatively small print run that prices are a little off the scale. It is also difficult to get some ebay sellers to understand what is meant by the UK cover, even when pictures are sent to them. If anyone does want to sell me their UK Hardback edition of The way of Kings I would of course be interested in hearing from them but my post was mostly to see if anyone would like to email the publisher as well and let them know there is a market. I have seen a number of posts on reddit etc asking about these editions so thought I would give it a go.

PS. These are the only 2 currently listed on ebay:
