Blackace Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) I was rereading the Stormlight Archive again, and found something particularly interesting. This is in the first book when Wit asks Dalinar if he knows about Adonalsium. Wit quickly changes subject once he knows that Dalinar had no clue. But my question is, why did Wit think that Dalinar might know of Adonalsium? Is it because of the vision, or is it something more Did Wit already, at the time, felt Honors presence within Dalinar? What do you guys think? Edited February 8, 2018 by Blackace
Willow Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) Well, probably because Dalinar's older brother was part of at least one (religious) secret society, and Wit thought Gavilar would have involved Dalinar. Of course, as we now know from Oathbringer, Dalinar was in no fit state to join any secret group after what happened at the Rift (being too busy making sure he was completely drunk for most of the time after that), which all probably happened before Gavilar started working with the Sons of Honor. Quote Questioner When Hoid is talking to Dalinar he seems to expect that Dalinar may have heard of Adonalsium. Brandon Sanderson Adonalsium. Yes. Questioner Why is that? Why would he think that Dalinar would have knowledge about that? Brandon Sanderson He thought that Dalinar was part of some of the secret societies on Roshar, and he had thought his way into thinking Dalinar was part of them and that was how Dalinar was knowing certain things he was knowing. Which he really wasn't, he was getting from the storms and things like this, but he thought that Gavilar had confided things in Dalinar and that Dalinar would know more about this. And so he was kind of testing to see, and he was wrong. Edited February 8, 2018 by Willow 2
