Wandering Investor Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 The difference is likley do to the difference between the regular spren and Radiant spren. When regular spren are corrupted they don't change what they do. There's no corruption of the magic system, so not red. Gly on the other hand is showing some changes in the abilities he grants. Renarin has so far been shown to be unable to lightweave. I suspect with Gly's corruption, he's given Renarin the surges of Regrowth and the void equivalent of Lightweaving, but not lightweaving itself. An alternative is the amount of investiture present in the spren. Lesser spren don't have much, so very little corruption is required, so no red showing. Gly and the oathgate spren on the other hand have larger amounts of investiture, so they show more red. 1

So, what happened with Adonalsium's spren on Roshar? Were those associated to Honor and Cultivation? What happened with them? There's a lot of Cultivation in all of the spren, particularly the natural spren And all spren are connected to the 3 Rosharan shards except Radiant Spren (Cultivation and Honor) and Voidspren (Odium)
digitalbusker he/him Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Despite the way the WoB is worded at the top, I think what we actually know is that strawberries are red, not that tomatoes are strawberries. Metaphorically speaking. ETA: Not that that's necessarily a problem for this theory; it's certainly true that not all of the spren "enlightened" by Sja-Anat are red. That some of the investiture of spren is connected to Odium.
