TaliaRain Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Roshar seems rife with them now. Some we knew about, some we had hints of. I'm going to try to list out what we know and see if we can make some (more)sense of it. Just going by memory here, some of this will need to be corrected and expanded. Ghostbloods; persons of note: Mraize, Thiadakar?; objectives:unknown; opposed by: Sons of Honor, Jasnah Kholin, Gavilar Kholin Sons of Honor; persons of note: Amaram, Restares?; objectives: restore the knights radiant, restore the hierarchy, ?; opposed by: ghostbloods The Diagram; persons of note: Taravangian; objectives: unite Roshar under Taravangian's rule by any means necessary; opposed by: ? 17th Shard; persons of note: Demoux, Galladon; objectives: unknown; opposed by: Hoid? Skybreakers; persons of note: Nalan; objectives:suppression of surgebinding, ?; opposed by: ? Unaffiliated persons of note: Gavilar Kholin, Jasnah Kholin, Hoid, Zahel? I'm leaning toward Gavilar having been involved with Amaram's group, what do you think? Edited March 6, 2014 by Maximus
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I was just thinking of starting a thread called "Secret Societies of Roshar", but you beat me to it! A few notes (possible WoR Spoilers): Amaram calls his group the "Sons of Honor" a few times towards the end of WoR I'm not sure the Ghostbloods were opposed to Gavilar Gavilar was involved with both the Sons of Honor AND the Diagram per WoRBoth Amaran and Taravangian talk to themselves, saying "we're nearing there Gavilar" or something to that effect. I'd say that Szeth is a person of Note for the "skybreakers" I'm leaning towards "Zahel" and Hoid being in cahoots in some way...
Swimmingly he/him Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Oldbloods, people?! Not secret, as such, but by that measure, neither are the Masons.

TaliaRain Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 I was just thinking of starting a thread called "Secret Societies of Roshar", but you beat me to it! A few notes (possible WoR Spoilers): Amaram calls his group the "Sons of Honor" a few times towards the end of WoR Changes made I'm not sure the Ghostbloods were opposed to Gavilar Gavilar believed Thaidakar might have sent Szeth, Amaram seems to think Thaidakar is involved with the Ghostbloods after Halaran was killed. Have to go look at it again. Gavilar was involved with both the Sons of Honor AND the Diagram per WoRBoth Amaran and Taravangian talk to themselves, saying "we're nearing there Gavilar" or something to that effect. I would be interested in a pointer to where this occurred. I'd say that Szeth is a person of Note for the "skybreakers" Perhaps he is now. I tend to see Szeth as a tool, not a decision maker, that's kind of where I was going with the "persons of note" category. Also related: I'm not sure what the "skybreakers" objectives are following the advent of the everstom. I'm leaning towards "Zahel" and Hoid being in cahoots in some way... Possibly. Hard to say
