OB Humans Destroyed A World?

I read in a theory that we know for certain that the Roshar humans destroyed their previous world with surges and that Odium ruled that world. How do we know that? It doesn’t make sense to me that they could use surges without Honor having been there.

Yes, it's stated that humans on Roshar were refugees fleeing a world they had destroyed by misusing the Surges and/or the Dawnshards (and we still don't know what those are) and it's very strongly implied that the world they ruined was Ashyn.

As for how they could use the Surges or something similar, as long as the world was Ashyn then it's part of the same system so Realmatically it should be delatively close to Roshar and the people should have had similar sDNA so having a similar magic system isn't out of the question.
