[OB] [Question] Highstorms / Everstorms

Hello,

I have a question about highstorms and Everstorm.

Everywhere highstorms are described like moving from stormward to leeward, in fact from east to west. Everstorm is a storm moving in the opposite direction, right?

How is that possible. The Shattered Plain is in East and at the end of the second book, the Everstorm start there. So it has to go to west, no?

Moreover, in the 3rd book, when Kaladin goes back to Urithiru, he is surfing on a highstorm. How is it possible if highstorms move east to west?

Did I miss understanding something?

Thanks

  • Pagerunner changed the title to [OB] [Question] Highstorms / Everstorms

I am not sure about your doubt.

The Everstorm was initially summoned into the Shattered Plains (like you said) and it keeps going to east. it soon passed over the little of Roshar's continent remains and it pass all the Ocean to reach after X time Amia (extreme East).

About book 3, Kal reaches Urithuru surfing on an Highstorm from Alethkar and it's right as Urithuru is mostly in the Roshar's center and Alethkar is in the East side. So Kal is moving from east to west

Thanks you! You're right, I thought Kal used the portal to get to Urithuru. I thought we can't get Urithuru without a portal. For me, Urithuru is a dead end with only portals to get out!
