Trip Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Ever since i finished WOR for the first time I never really believed that the parshendi are the voidbringers. After reading the preview chapters it occurred to me that it might be possible that the listeners are just the underlings of the unmade referred to as "the black piper in the night". Similarity to how the midnight essence are the underlings of the Midnight Mother. This unmade dude is playing all the songs that they can attune too. 1
Blacksmithki Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 From what we know so far, and how Brandon writes, one of the major theories are that some of the parshendi become voidbringers and some of the humans do as well, but it seems likely that they are not just underlings, though i can see how you got there.
dvoraen Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Honestly I think the "real" Voidbringers are those beings that can draw the Unmade to a given location to do their nastiness. I think we're going to find out a lot more about this (the term's misuse and process I mentioned) in the next seven days.
AngelDeath Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 There is this Quote 'Tis said it was warm in the land far away When Voidbringers entered our songs. We brought them home to stay And then those homes became their own, It happened gradually. And years ahead 'twil still said 'tis how it has to be. -From the Listeners Song of Histories, 12th stanza So the Listeners refer to Voidbringers as something other then themselves. It could be that 'voidbringer' is just a general term for anything supernatural and bad. Sort of like 'demons' in the KKC.

I mean this. Quote We brought them home to stay And then those homes became their own,
Beatsmorn Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 I thought Voidbringers are just voidspren. There was a quote from Diagram, paraphrasing: "when Taln weakens, voidbringers will be able to cross barrier between worlds", and I can't think of anything other than voidspren, as we know Unmade was on Roshar whole time.
