Sirscott13 he/him
For sel, it seems elantrians as well as the monks can teleport. Would this be limited to sel or could they use it to travel to other planets in the cosmere? For scadrial, it seems to me that using time bubbles to warp space would be the simplistic way, but you would have to include the southern continent and they're metallic art machines. Imagine creating a duralumin enhanced speed bubble on a normal rocket ship. You travel great distances while you stay in a form of stasis because time has been stretched dramatically while at the same time you create a duralumin enhanced speed bubble on the thruster part of the ship so that they spill tons of energy in a fraction of a second so the moment the bubble drops it's released in one big push. On roshar, one could simply use shardesmar but I theorize that with enough storm light you could bend space with the gravitation surge and enough lashings. On the warbreaker planet you could awaken an engine that doesn't require fuel because it could feed off color. With the tenth heightening it seems that color wouldn't be hard to come by. You could also possibly awaken a sentient pod with the command travel through space. Theories?
cris34b he/him
I like this idea. Also, with Scadrial, I feel like one could make a ship out of steel and iron using the Southern Continent's feruchemical machines. Then the rocket would be weightless on the planet, and would be able to go extremely fast with a bunch of stored speed to start with. Not to mention a few good Pushes would get it moving well for a liftoff. In fact, with a tall enough metal tower, I doubt that the Scadrians would even need fuel to get their ship into space. Roshar seems to have a good setup, since even if not going FTL, they can Soulcast their own food and water, though they'll need to figure out how to permanently store Stormlight. I wonder if on Nalthis, they could just Command something like "Teleport things" Or "When commanded, move fast" Idk, but some serious expiramenting on their part. Sel would have a hard time going from world-to-world mainly because of how fast the planets are orbiting and spinning, and of the hugely perfect distance equations needed. I guess they could go while in a large space ship and move the whole ship, then, use the ship's form to create new Aons in space, since it will technically be the only landmark around, and so will be easy to make new Aons out of. (make it a big ship, preferrably in the shape of the same Aon as Elantris.) Then they could keep trying to get near and teleport into orbit before landing. With Sel, my guess is they will need to train people to quickly identify new ways to make Aons, aka send Elantrians around Sel and have them see how to make new Aons for the surrounding locations, then they can better use AonDor on other planets. Sirscott13 he/him
I think in the case of sel, it would be a factor of finding a way to calculate planetary distance and then just teleporting there from elantris. Granted they would need the skill in order to return to sel. But imagine finding an accurate way to measure the distance to say scadrial in footsteps. Then they calculate, draw the aon for teleportation in their spaceship and then boom they teleport just outside the planet and defend back down. Or maybe it just requires a sacrifice of many monks haha

Sirscott13 he/him
Yes all the monks die and the whole planet teleports next to roshar and then a the elantrians team up with the nights radiants and kill all the void bringers. Side note cris34b can I just say that whole Avatar/cosmere thing is priceless
Swimmingly he/him
Then the unstable orbit caused by dumping a planet next to another makes them both spiral into the sun, which burps and appriciates Rock's cooking for the first and last time? 18th Shard he/him
Of, course, the multiple planets subsequently absorbed by the increasing star's mass causes it to shrink in size to a neutron star, and over the next few years accretes enough mass to overcome the neutron star's upper mass limit, resulting in ... a black hole!!! Odium plots revenge as his attempts to do anything with his Shardic power cause it to be added to the mass of the black hole, and only in this way does the balance of the cosmere reassert itself. Of course, Hoid was the Dakhor monk who sacrificed all of the others and jumped via Shadesmar to Scadrial, where he will slowly manipulate Harmony into adding his Shardworld to the cosmic black hole. Over time, Hoid will convince all the Shards into putting their planets into this black hole, causing Adonalsium to be reassembled due to the large amounts of gravity compressing the power of creation, and initiating a Big Bang in a galaxy far, far away.... Then Hoid uses the power of Adonalsium to create the Force. Edited February 19, 2014 by 18th Shard
Swimmingly he/him
Well, if black holes in fact have only an apparent horizon rather than an event horizon, than Odium can probably hang out for a while and get out as Hawking radiation eventually evaporates the black hole.
18th Shard he/him
Shardic Investiture prevents imaginary particles from being created near high gravitational wells, preventing Hawking radiation. Is it sad a ninth grader knows all of this? Edited February 19, 2014 by 18th Shard
Swimmingly he/him
But the expulsion of Shardic energy to counteract the imaginary particles, because the Shard is within the black hole, is not only impossible but a leak of energy itself. This will replace the previous statement to prevent age discrimination. Edited February 19, 2014 by Swimmingly
PorridgeBrick he/him
I'm also a ninth grader, and I certainly don't think it's sad.
Sirscott13 he/him
Well I'm a sophomore in college and I kinda get what your selling. But I have to wonder if this all powerful black hole would have representation in the cognitive realm producing a Spren like no other has seen before. This results in a new god that destroys all the shards.
18th Shard he/him
@Swimmingly The Shardic Investiture can pass through the Spiritual Realm if it just leaks out, but nothing else can. Also, for there to be a cognitive realm there would have to be those that think, and a black hole just killed everyone but ~16 Shardholders and Hoid, who just made Star Wars part of the cosmere.
