Cognition Connection

I heard someone mention that the magic on Roshar was connected to Wavelengths. This makes sense, since in Warbreaker, Awakeners get perfect pitch and perfect color recognition. Both sound and sight work primarily because of wavelengths.

 

Now, the Parshendi too, seem to be cognitively connected to each other with their strange inter-body musical matching, since they are all able to simultaneously hear the exact same song and speak to the tune of these songs.

 

Not sure where exactly I'm going with this, but I feel like it is important.

 

If they can already do this cognition connection, what will happen when they utilize stormform, which allows them to create and control the Highstorms? Will the theorized cognitive distorting properties of the Highstorms enhance this even more, teach them new songs, and lead the rapid learning of new forms?

You were probably reading Isomere's topic concerning Wavelength is the Foci of Roshar.

If my fu were strong, I'd be able to link you to it. He had many strong arguments, but without more info I can't say he's 100% correct.

 

And I'm kinda terrified of what the Parshendi might be able to do in Storm-form.

Here is Isomere's Waveform theory. Last time I checked, he now prefers the theory that only sound is the focus on Roshar, though that may have changed now.

 

My own theory is that forms of Investiture that involve singing (or, theoretically, using wind instruments, e.g. flute, etc.) all have something to do with the Exhalation Body Focus (in other words, the Vapor Essence).

 

The Parshendi also use an internal rhythm system that can be synchronized among multiple Parshendi individuals. I suspect this has something to do with their heartbeats. If this is the case, then it appears that we now have at least three types of heartbeat-based Investiture:

• Shardblade-summoning
• Aimian self-Regrowth
• Parshendi Rhythm (might be heartbeat-based)

I believe all three have something to do with the Blood Essence/Body Focus, since that's what a heartbeat indicates: the pumping of blood throughout the body.

I'm not sure how the Parshendi can use rhythms and songs to control highstorms, but I believe it will involve manipulating the Pressure Surge somehow to create winds. I hope we get to see a demonstration in WoR.
