+Extesian he/him Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 (edited) So a couple of WoBs, hopefully i haven't missed anyone citing them as I haven't been following this thread closely either. You can bond an Honorblade, to summon in back to you and so on, the difference is that if you drop it it won't disappear. But otherwise you're bonded to it like a bond with a Shardblade (not a bond with a live Spren that turns into a blade). Quote QUESTION () You mentioned that human can’t bond Honorblades, but Nalan tells Szeth that his bond with his Honorblade has been broken. Can you clear this up? BRANDON SANDERSON Humans CAN bond Honorblades. There's a crucial difference between Honorblades and Shardblades. When you drop an Honorblade, it does not disappear, even if it has been bonded. A Shardblade will disappear when dropped You can also bond more than one spren, it's just difficult because of the spren, I imagine either because of conflicting oaths or maybe just possessiveness Quote QUESTION Could someone bond with two spren and wield two swords? BRANDON SANDERSON It is theoretically possible, but the spren aren’t going to like it. So you won’t see it very often. So in response to the OP there's really no way you could do it with Nahel bonds. Maybe two but for the rest you need Honorblades. But that should be possible, he didn't imply am upper limit on the number, and you could just summon one blade. I'm assuming you can still surgebind with all of them while they're unsummoned. Edited May 21, 2017 by Extesian

His Stormlight Efficiency will drop with the mix Nahel's Surgebinding and Honorblade's Surgebinding (also if probably would be better than Honorblade's Surgebinding alone). I think this didn't happen simply because Kal didn't try to use the Blade. We know (and recently Brandon talked on this) expectation does a lot about Cosmere's magic. If Kal didn't think the Blade will gave him powers....the Blade will not gave him powers. EDIT: As I referenced it, I will post the Brandon's post about (look at the point 2 at the bottom): Edited May 21, 2017 by Yata

EDIT: As I referenced it, I will post the Brandon's post about (look at the point 2 at the bottom): Syl directly told him though that the Honorblade would grant the holder Windrunner powers though. We don't actually see him surgebind with it though, so hard to say if his powers were actually affected. Quote She stopped just before the sword. “I think this is one of the Honorblades, the swords of the Heralds.” Kaladin grunted. He’d heard of those. “Any man who holds this weapon will become a Windrunner,” Syl explained, looking back at Kaladin. “The Honorblades are what we are based on, Kaladin. Honor gave these to men, and those men gained powers from them. Spren figured out what He’d done, and we imitated it. We’re bits of His power, after all, like this sword. Be careful with it. It is a treasure.” “So the assassin wasn’t a Radiant.” “No. But Kaladin, you have to understand. With this sword, someone can do what you can, but without the . . . checks a spren requires.” She touched it, then shivered visibly, her form blurring for a second. “This sword gave the assassin power to use Lashings, but it also fed upon his Stormlight. A person who uses this will need far, far more Light than you will. Dangerous levels of it.”
