Hey! So, I'm Truthweaver, a long-time lurker, and today I finally decided to be brave and join my first forum. (yay!) My dad introduced me to Brandon's books with the Way of Kings two years ago and I've been hooked ever since. As per usual, my obsession quickly overtook my dad's casual interest and I've been trying to educate him on the Cosmere, slowly but surely. I've read everything Brandon I could find and I'm very eagerly awaiting the release of Oathbringer.

It's great to finally be here! See you all around :)

Hi! Welcome to the Shard, and have an upvote! Don't listen to anyone who says "Avoid the cookies." They're just fine.

That happens all the time with me and my older siblings! Our parents introduce us to things and then we completely overshoot the runway. I've tried educating my parents about the Cosmere (my sister introduced me to Sanderson) but they just smile and nod and I realize that they have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. I'm extremely hyped for Oathbringer to come out: 41% through the 4th and 5th drafts!

I think I'll pass on the cookies. I'd rather Preserve my sanity.

I think my dad does have the general idea by now...at least, he enjoys playing "Where's Hoid?" with each new Cosmere book. :P And now he's even gotten my uncle involved. Sometimes I feel like my obsession with Sanderson books is a disease I'm slowly spreading to my family...

It looks like we've a potential source of invested (hemalurgic spikes) cookies. Too bad.

The world would be a better place if only every country uses the weaponized 'Sanderson books obsession virus' in warfare instead of guns, bombs etc. Then, the 17th Shard can serve as the United Nations. :P

I'm trying that. I feel that way with Studio C. It's a problem.
